So today I was watching the episode with Cousin Gerri and I noticed that as soon as she came out and said "Hello I'm looking for Blair Warner." The audience cracked up. It kinda has to make you wonder how Gerri felt about that, because obviously that line wasn't meant to be funny.

But um, speaking of funny... did anyone else find her to be kind of corny? Like when Jo says "You drove a car up here?" and Gerri's all "No a lemon." It seems like she'd be a big burden to talk to, what with every other sentence being a bad joke. You kinda can't blame Blair for leaving early.

I kind did find her corny. Her jokes weren't really funny.

She couldn't help it she was corny, she was written that way! I think Gerri Jewel is a very good actress. I wish when people looked at her they'd see her talent and not her disease.

(In true Natalie tone) Guys it was the 80's. A lot of jokes were kinda corny. Geri's a good bean. I always found her adorable. :)

I agree! Back then jokes weren't as sarcastic as they are now. I love her so much. I think Thelma's husband on Good Times, Keith, told cornier jokes.

Now I remember who she is. I was watching her do stand up many years ago with my dad and she was basically making fun of herself and her disability. I appreciate people who can laugh at themselves but it was a little too much for my dad and I so we changed the channel.
