I found this cover-art in the Lucy Birthday brochure 2009. Apparently, they are doing a sneak preview of Season 2 at the celebration. Hope that means it is going to come out before the end of the year.

Here is the cover-art that is included in the brochure...

Nice indeed! I just wish they would include Gale Gordon. I look for them to use Lucy and the children for the first 3 releases, then when season 4 comes around and Desi is no longer in the cast that we will see Gale Gordon on the front.

MPI said that are committed to releasing all 6 season. I believe them, and I believe that we will have a high quality release of all 6 years sitting on our shelves within a reasonable amount of time. Probably before we have the entire release of The Lucy Show!

On a side note, did you send this info to tvshowsondvd.com? You should!!!

What IS up with that????? This is the now the third Here's Lucy DVD release, and also the third without Gale Gordon on the cover. I'm getting the feeling when season 4 comes along, it will be Lucille Ball with Lucie Arnaz and Flip Wilson on the cover.

I suppose its a sticky situation to include him, because it would look like he's the father of the family. Maybe they should put a little circle with his picture, and say also starring Gale Gordon.

The more I think about it, the more I wonder if it has to do with using Gale's likeness and having to pay his estate for the use of his picture?

I don't believe there are any legal issues with Gordon's estate. It was a big deal at the time that Lucy would be working with her real-life children, therefore a lot of the press photos at the time were of her, Lucie and Desi Jr. I agree with an earlier poster, and we should see Gale on the cover art for the later seasons after Desi Jr. left the series. Either way, the first two seasons look great!

I'd love for MPI to go ahead and announce Season 2 before Season 1 is even released. Keep this series moving along until all 6 seasons are out.

I haven't heard much about the next Lucille Ball Specials dvd. We knows it's going to be the Art Carney Double Feature but when?

MPI plans on releasing all 6 seasons in fairly rapid order. I believe they expect to have six seasons out by the end of 2010. I hope "The Lucy Show" is released in similar fashion.

Wow! That's great news. Do you know anything about their timing for the rest of the Specials? :)

That I don't know. My personal favorite, or must-have, is "Lucy Calls The President". Gotta have that one....

Lucy Calls the President is great! I can't wait for it. Vivian Vance, Gale Gordon, Mary Jane Croft and Mary Wickes are back with Lucy one last time!

I'm happy about Here's Lucy Season 2, but I wish we could atleast know the status of the Lucy Show season 2. We don't even know, officially, if it will be released. Logically it should be, but we don't know!!!!!

I just saw the Here's Lucy Season One DVD set for the first time and I have no words to describe it. I am speechless. They have truly outdone themselves with this set.

I just found out from someone at the Lucy Lounge that "Lucy Calls The President" is actually the next dvd to be released in the "Lucille Ball Specials" series. Apparently, it is due out in early '09. But that's based on some early info heard at the Lucy Birthday Celebration. It would be terrific to see it released before Christmas. :)

Early '09? Well, it's a bit too late for that! I assume you mean early 2010?

Oops, sorry about that. That's what I meant...early 2010? Hopefully, they could get it out sooner though. If it has to be 2010, I hope it is at the beginning of January.

No biggie! I figured you meant early 2010. I would love to see this special. I've actually never seen any of them, but, I've heard that this one ranks as one of the best.

"Probably before we have the entire release of The Lucy Show!"

You can bet the ranch on that. We will be lucky if CBS gives us one season per year. MPI is great. Remember how fast they got all five seasons of The Doris Day Show out? This is great. Sadly no stores in the Louisville, KY area had HL Season One so I ordered it on amazon. I guess I will go ahead and pre-order season two as well. That is not even three months between seasons, finally a company who does not make us wait an eternity for the next season.

MPI is great! I started watching the set last night. I made my way through the first 5 episodes and I LOVE IT!!! Such a fun show. This is an excellent set! If you haven't already ordered it, be sure to get your copy. You won't be disappointed. It really is a beautiful set.

I laughed so hard in "Lucy The Conclusion Jumper" when she is on the phone with Uncle Harry and she says "Well she isn't going down there to sing "here come da judge, here come da judge"

I, like many others apparently, had to order the HL set from amazon because no store in my area had it. I got it today and i am amazed! By looking at the promos it seems as though the majority of the show has already been remastered, because in the "promo" for season one it included clips from later season episodes and they looked crystal clear! Im also excited about The Mothers-in-law. Does anyone know when that will come out. In one of the dvd's i bought recently a brochure was placed in side that had the lucy show specials listed and which ones would be paired together and the box art for the mothers in law. when researching mpi i couldn't find a thing!

PS i haven't posted here in what feels like ages and its good to be back!

Welcome back to the boards. All I've heard about The Mothers-In-Law is that they're tentatively thinking of a December release date. Nothing more specific than that.

I'm surprised we haven't heard more about "The Mothers-In-Law" yet. Usually tvshowsondvd.com reports with any early coverart but the one that was included in the insert has not been posted. So far, the only other release scheduled by MPI in the Lucy department is "Here's Lucy: Season 2". No word on the next specials dvd yet. It would make a fantastic end to 2009 to have "The Mothers-In-Law" and the next Lucy special and... I know I may be reaching here... "The Lucy Show: Season 2". :happyface

FINALLY! I have been looking all over for Season 1, and nobody has had it. I was preparing to order it from Deepdiscount.com, but, really dreaded waiting for it to come. I just lucked out, late last night, and saw that a few local Best Buys were showing it in stock. They only got a couple of them in at each location, so, I ordered for in-store pick-up, and I got the set today! I'm so excited! I have never seen this show, so, I'm REALLY excited!

I am still waiting for the package to arrive from Amazon. They really ticked me off with this order. It shipped Monday night, arrived in Cincinnati on Tuesday, and has been sitting there ever since. In fact, I just checked the status of it and it's still showing as being in Cincy. And to think I paid extra for quicker shipment.
