View Full Version : Posting Technique

I'm just curious as to how people decide what and where to post on the boards. It's easier for me to click on the "View New Posts" button and then do a huge search. If I do it every day, I usually end up with four pages. Then I just skim the four pages and respond to the ones I want. If it's a political thing, I have an unofficial "rule" (that I've broken a few times) that I only post my opinion once. I shouldn't be posting on that board anyway, so I just post my opinion and forget about it. That's the best tactic I've found and it keeps me from getting involved in any debates. Otherwise if it's any other part of the board, I may respond more than once, depending on what it is. Before I found that "New Post" button, I would go section by section but then I found it was taking forever.

So what's your technique? Only posting in certain areas, or do you like to see all the new responses and topics?

I generally only post on the Chit Chat boards and occasionally some of the TV show boards. Mainly Chit Chat for me, though. I'm interested in the other forums but I tend to only read through the threads there.

On Chit Chat, I just log on and reply to the threads which I either find the most interesting or feel that I can add something to.

When I come here the first place I look is 1960's Sitcoms and then work my way down.
