But now comes the question that the Titans probably never thought they’d have to answer: Does McNair deserve such an honor? Many, even including some Titans fans, are saying no.

You may not agree with all the decisions Steve McNair made in his personal life but the decal that the Titans will be wearing on their helmets is meant to honor Steve McNair the football player not Steve McNair the man. The Titans are celebrating Steve McNair's accomplishments on the playing field not anything in his private life. And McNair's playing career certainly justifies this honor.

Last year I always questioned the fact all the players wore the initials GU on their helmets to honor the late player rep Gene Upshaw, who was instrumental in ruining the league with unfettered free agency in the early 1990s, which hurt the Cincinnati Bengals. ticked:

Why do people find it hard to not have the decal honoring Steve.
Really gimme a break. As a Titans fan, living in Titans land myself.
Think despite his personal life problems, it is a fit tribute to a QB.
And hope that they will honor it more, by retiring #9 in the process.

As a Titans fan, it is disgusting to think some fans don't think Steve should be honored. He was their QB when they were at the top of the NFL and led them to their only Superbowl appearance.
