I am currently 21 and I love this show. I loved it since I was 18. It shows on TV here in Chicago once in a while, and I bought a box set with the best episodes. I think that if it was marketed better over the years, the show would have been as popular as the 50's sitcom classic "I Love Lucy" which enters it's 50th anniversary this year.

I agree. The first couple seasons this show was on television (1950-1952), I believe it was done live. So all that exists from those years are inferior kinescopes. But the last six season ('52-'58), it was filmed. It was a wonderful show. And George and Gracie were one of the greatest and most durable comedy teams of all time. Their radio show started in like 1933. Before that, they had been in vaudeville together for several years. That had to be good to have that kind of longevity.

I first saw this show when I was a teenager. Until that point, George Burns, to me, was just that old man who showed up occasionally on The Carol Burnett Show, and who played God in Oh God! I knew nothing of his career prior to that. And I had never heard of Gracie Allen at all. But when I saw this show, I thought it was the funniest thing ever -- even challenging I Love Lucy. Gracie Allen was terrific! I would love to see this show again.

I saw the show the other day (again) and I miss Gracie so much. I was wondering what ever happened to their son. He was so handsome. I'm glad they still show Burns and Allen every now and then.

I'm so glad to see this show added to the site. I LOVE George and Gracie!

The television show used to be on Sunday nights on my local PBS station. Unfortunately, I can't find it anymore. I know there are tapes out there, but I'm a poor college student! :)

I have 60+ recordings of the radio programs they did. I am a huge fan of them, and would love to see the show brought back for a good run.

I agree, Nick at Night should pick up Burns and Allan. It would be a hit. I love the show and I am a big fan. I am waiting for the complete seasons box set. I believe it will happen but we have to be patient.

Gracie was a hoot all right. She copyrighted daffy but graciously shared the patent with Lucy. Were they ever on a show together--if they were--that would have had to been a riot.

The 3 great commediennes may they rest in peace...Grace, Lucy and Gilda.
