CBS is expected to announce Monday that recently canceled daytime soap stalwart "Guiding Light" will be succeeded by a new version of the classic game show "Let's Make a Deal."
"Whose Line Is It Anyway?" star Wayne Brady hosts "Deal," which is produced by FremantleMedia North America.
After announcing in April that "Guiding Light" would end its 72-year run on Sept. 18, CBS began a search for a replacement that was focused primarily on game shows.
The network shot pilots for "Deal" and revivals of "Pyramid" and "The Dating Game."

This ticks me off so much. The Pyramid pilot was so much better, according to those who were there and based on the pictures I've seen of it. They were already looking for contestants and everything, too! I'll watch LMAD and I hope it's successful, but I just don't see why they couldn't have just done a half-hour of each.

I guess they picked LMAD because it's cheaper. But still, I'm majorly dissapointed to say the least. I'll at least check it out, though.

They should have brought back Monty Hall to host the show!

Good to see a daytime network show back on the schedule. My grandmother is glad to hear LMAD is coming back. I enjoy Wayne Brady's hosting on Don't Forget The Lyrics.

I think Wayne Brady will be a great host!
I also hope they bring back Concentration with (maybe) Richard Karn as the host.

if it ever did, it would be on NBC only as NBC owns that show outright (the only Goodson Toddman game not in Fremantle's hands).
And NBC has long since given up on programming daytime.....once Days goes off the air, that will be it.
