View Full Version : Roseanne Barr Poses As Hitler for Magazine...Bring in the Controversy
Brian Damage 07-31-2009, 10:25 AM For a recent issue of Heeb Magazine, which is apparently a real magazine that discusses Jewish issues, Roseanne Barr showed up to do a bizarre photoshoot of herself dressed up as a domestic goddess-style Hitler, pulling little burnt gingerbread men out of an oven:

I've been reading about this the last couple of days.
Way to go Rosie. Juat keep on destroying any chance that you will be liked again. I guess Tom Arnold was right. You are nuts.
If anyone in showbiz had any guts, she will never be seen on TV again. But since Roseanne is big in syndication, it's okay that she continues to air her psychotic laundry in public.
Zoneboy 07-31-2009, 10:47 AM Just another reason why I can't stand this overrated idiot.

To be fair, where can she get detergent for that?
Interesting.
Heeb Magazine, which has been doing this kind of self hating sendup of all things Jewish and hiding behind the "hey we're jewish so it's cool that we make fun of ourselves" excuse for a few years, recieved start up funds from Steven Speilbergs Shoah Foundation, an organization that kind of looks down on things like this/

Speilberg probably has no idea his money is being used to fund this anti semetic all dressed up as hip trash.
I hope someone tells him soon.
catlover79 07-31-2009, 11:52 AM First the National Anthem debacle...now this. When will she ever learn??
browneyes106 07-31-2009, 10:06 PM I think Roseanne is a great comedian but she goes to far with controversy.
Mr. Television 07-31-2009, 10:17 PM And to think I was once a big fan of Roseanne's. :ohno:
JamesG 07-31-2009, 10:55 PM She looks more like Mario from Super Mario Bros.
Marvo301 07-31-2009, 11:06 PM This is just wrong on so many levels!!
Schmoopie 08-01-2009, 04:07 AM Absolutely disgusting! I cannot stand Rosanne and could never for the life of me figure out why her show was so popular. Must have been the supporting cast. I wonder what John Goodman and Sarah Gilbert think about this. If I were them, I would be embarrassed to admit that I even associated with that woman.
Overdose 08-01-2009, 05:35 AM Roseanne's explanation for the Hitler photo-shoot:
"Heeb is a humor magazine for young hip jewish people, and I was asked to be in the "germany" issue. I always thought Hitler had some extreme self loathing about not being "male enough", and i thought it was funny to show him in housewife drag. After all, the german housefraus loved the guy and did whatever he told them to do. They were falling all over themselves, screaming in the streets as if he were a rockstar, pressing their children to him for a kiss, as he exiled them back into the kitchen and out of the professions, and blamed everything on "liberals".
Hitler served the german industrialists who put him in power, as if he were their little housefrau. When they thought they could turn a buck by cooking and gassing their minority groups, he helped set up their lines of federal credit to do so.
I thought that Hitler in drag making jew cookies was a very accurate way of depicting the whole German Gestalt. Also, I hate Hitler, because he thought that artists should be censored. I also hate everyone else who thinks that way.
Get over Hitler, Jewish people!! that was then and this is now!"

Totally disgusting. Every time she opens her mouth she makes it worse. Yea I can see where gassing Jewish people would make her think there was a lot of humor there. And you really should separate your opinions from hers. I almost blasted her for the comment Get over Hitler, Jewish people!! that was then and this is now!" until I realized that was yours and not hers.
Stupid Roseanne

I love that reasoning.
I'm and artist, and if you don't like my art, then you're trying to censor me and you're the one with the problem.
Overdose 08-01-2009, 03:29 PM I love and support Roseanne Barr.
PrettyinPink55 08-01-2009, 07:41 PM Absolutely sickening.
I love and support Roseanne Barr.
For the love of God Overdose, stop being an apologist.
Wake up and stop blindly supporting this lunatic.
Overdose 08-02-2009, 03:59 AM Roseanne has always been ahead of the curve. What is shocking now, will be nothing in 5 to 10 years. It always takes that trailblazer.
Roseanne blogs more about the photos:
i am sick of being misunderstood!
Hitler thought he was being really manly "cleaning Germany up" by burning people in ovens. I was making fun of him, not his victims.
My characature of him very aptly imitates the "man with a godly mission" pose that he struck in all the early photographs taken of him. I portray him being very proud of his burnt cookies, because in his last words, he was proudly congratulating himself for killing so many jews, and encouraged the german people to carry on his mission against the "International Jew."
The guy actually thought that killing jews was a good thing! The language that he used is still being used by many world leaders to this day.
He killed my whole family, it is true, but he is also dead, and I, a Jewish woman am still alive to make fun of him, and I will continue to make fun of the little runt for the rest of my life!
He, and his ideas need to be laughed at even more these days, picked apart and analyzed up and down, as there are more and more people denying his crimes, and more and more despots trying to copy them.
question from the Jewish reporter at the Enquirer:
How can you defend “burnt Jew cookies” coming out of an oven?
my answer: I can't defend anything about Hitler's depravity. Why do you think I ought to?
Hitler would have hated my picture of him wearing a dress and eating dead people. He would have had me killed for taking it. Get a clue! Jewish people should love that I had the balls to do it, not attack me like you are doing!
In case you missed Roseanne's first explanation:
for those who wonder about me as hitler in heeb:

Would he? Or would he have thought that was funny? When I saw what she did, I didn't see someone making fun of Hitler but I saw someone making light out of what Hitler did. Gassing the Jewish People....funny stuff. :rolleyes:Why did she have to have anything involving baking anybody? That is just sick. She either knew what she was doing and is now just babbling trying to cover her ass or she is a complete idiot. Either way, Roseanne has completely lost it.
Overdose 08-02-2009, 04:17 PM Roseanne has completely lost it according to you. Americans are too politically correct these days.

Hey I hate everything Politically correct but she crossed the line.
JulieSomoski 08-02-2009, 04:32 PM Just to be clear, she was asked to do this by the magazine. It's not like she came up to them and deliberately asked them to dress as Hitler. They wanted Roseanne in the magazine, she accepted - I don't see the problem. I mean, come on - its just a picture of her with a mustache taking burnt cookies out of the oven, lol. I don't see where the controversy is.
I love Roseanne, I think she's hysterical. She lives for controversy and she loves doing these kinds of things. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, lol.
Overdose 08-02-2009, 05:25 PM Roseanne blogs about it, again, and makes another great point!
from the comments at HEEB, thank god someone gets it!:

This finally smashes forever the glass box of sadness and anger that the Jewish people have been trapped in since 1945,
Free, at last.
from me:
thank you kaye, that was my intent, and the intent of the whole "Germany" issue of Heeb magazine.
It is time that the Jewish people stop defining themselves as victims of hitler, and reclaim the path we were on before he stopped us: the commitment to a world of integration and Justice.
