Not to sound negative, I just need to vent. I hate summer! I used to love it, now I hate it. I'm actually looking forward to starting college and meeting new people. Most of all, I'm looking forward to the crispy fall weather and the holidays. But, I gotta' say, summer is SOOOO BORING!!! And this stupid humidity in the air doesn't seem to want to go away, especially at night. And no one can fix my air conditioner, so I have trouble sleeping at night. I am just up-to-here with this summer crap already! And just think, I have another full month to put up with this crap. Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.

The heat and humidity was brutal here in the NYC area this week. It was one of those weeks where you didn't feel like doing a damn thing.

Well until recently, fall was my favorite season, but now I've switched to summer. Around here, we live for warm weather, and depite the 103 that Seattle got yesterday, it never lasts very long and the misery is temporary. Once we get A/C in our house, it will be much better. I love summer because it stays light until almost 10pm, more businesses are open later, people seem friendlier, etc.
The thing about fall is that by late October, the rain comes back, along with the getting dark at 5pm, which I hate with a purple passion! However, the gorgeous colorful leaves create a stunning rainbow across the Pacific Northwest.

PS In the Seattle Times today it said that last year on July 29th, the high temperature was only 64 in Seattle! Wow, what a difference a year makes!

I love summer. The boring thing about summer is reruns on television. The good thing about summer is going to the beach. I like warm and hot weather.

Yeah, when it's warm, but has a nice breeze in the air, I can tolerate summer. But lately it has been deathly humid outside and I'm getting some conflicting weather reports, one saying tomorrow will be nicer and warm, but not humid. Another saying that it will only be a little humid. And another saying it will remain humid throughout the weekend and all next week. I hear ya, when it's humid and muggy, I don't feel like doing a darn thing. I just feel like there's more for children to do during the summer, while us adults get stuck swimming, lounging around, or working at some dead-end job. Like me, I have to work every other day of the week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) at this crummy job in this crummy office that also has NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! So, the body odor is REPUGNANT!!! Yet, I'm seeing all the little kiddies just running around, playing, having fun, or hanging out at some theme park, or just playing on the beach! Like someone said during some car commercial, "summer is for children"!

What summer? We haven't had a summer here in Ohio this year! :crazy: :lol:

This Summer sucked, at least if you're living in Maine. We've been having rain all season and I really haven't had the chance to get in the pool at all. I'm also pretty sure that I'm fighting off the stupid Swine Flu. I'm so paranoid I'm going to give it to other people so I wash my hands constantly, try to stay home when I can and I try not to breathe on or touch anyone.

I hate it because it's been rainy alot, Humid :mad: , the gas prices are outrageous so I hardly can go too far from home. :mad:

I hated the summer in North Carolina when I visited. The humidity, mugginess and the heat.

It could be 9:30am and it's like almost 90 degrees and if you go out, it feels hot.

I was in NC recently and didn't think it was too bad (and I live in England, where we're used to not-so-warm weather.) There were times when it was too hot for my liking but in general I found the weather quite agreeable.

The UK apparently got some really hot weather while I was away but now that I'm back, apart from a few really warm days, I don't think it's been overly warm here. There are quite a few days when I've warn jumpers (which I've never had to do in America during the summertime.)

I hate fall and winter- it's cold, I have to wear four-five layers of clothing, and it begins eight months of school.

I am sick of the heat, Im pregnant and I hate leaving the house now.

I was never one for the warm weather. Summer is my least favorite season. The things I did like about the summer was the hiatus from school, the reruns on tv (I've always watched a lot of tv, so a break every now and then was needed), going to "summer places," such as the beach, zoo, amusement parks, family trips/vacations, hanging out with friends all night, and just simply relaxing. That was then.

My view changed this summer, my first summer as an official adult (I turned the big 21 in March). Now, I work 4 full days a week. I practically live on my own, paying my own bills, not to mention the trips and everything now come out of my own money. And since I have to pay for everything now, I've become cheap, so I haven't done much this summer. Come to think of it, maybe it's not summer that sucks, maybe it's being an adult with responsibility that sucks.

It also hasn't helped that it's been raining ALL summer long. I believe they said it rained 22 out of 30 days here in New York City in June. That sucked big time! July hasn't seen as much rain, but it's pretty much been raining on and off every 3 or so days. And to make matters worse, as TJL pointed out, we were hit with a heat wave this week. It's been hot, humid, and sticky. Rain and hot weather are the worst combinations. It makes you want to sit home and not do anything, which isn't good since it's summer and we should be out having a good time.

Summer 2009 sucked so far, but it's only half way over, so hopefully good things are to come in the next month.

Summer so far this year hasn't been so bad. June was hot & humid but most of July has been cooler than normal & we've had more rain than usual, which has been nice for a change. But I do prefer fall over all the other seasons.

I always liked Summer. Despite the fact that my brothers are home all the time. I find summer the most relaxing time of the year, just being in the warm sun and swimming.

I like summer its always been my favorite season. Seems like there is more going on that time of year than any other season. I am not a fan of the heat and the humidity, but we have had a mild summer here. Only one day in the 90's, and not that many days in the 80's. Its been cool and mostly in the 70's which is unusual because we have pretty warm summers.

Yeah. The thing is, in San Diego it doesn't get muggy or really hot like it does in the south with the humidity and stuff there.

That being said, when I came home it was 95 degrees and it was hot for awhile but it wasn't muggy or had the humidity that made it miserable. Some days we did have that, like it can be 86 degrees as it's muggy and it's miserable but on another day, same temp but not muggy and it's fine.

I love the summer, and I live in an area, where it does not become, too warm, or humid; the only downside about this season, is everywhere is absolutely mobbed; the beaches, the freeways, etc...

Yes, I'm sick of summer too. I've never been a fan of warm weather or doing summer-esque activities (beach, outdoor sports, bbqs, etc). Plus, I'm tired of just working and lying around; I want to go back to school! :lol: Fall is my favorite season. I love the colorful leaves, the crisp air, Halloween, layering my clothes, and being involved with school. Summer is nice for about a month, but then I want it to be fall again :)

For those in the Pacific Northwest, you know that summer around here doesn't really "officially" even start until mid July, and although sometimes it's short-lived and is over by mid-September, I still love it because it's such a nice change from cloudy weather. I don't mind the clouds, either, but sometimes it's nice to see the sun!!!
A lot of times I feel guilty going to work when it's sunny because I feel like I'm "wasting" one of our rare sunny days. It seems like it should be a crime to be working in the summer! But in winter, I'd much rather be indoors, so going to work is okay!:cool:

I find it odd and hypocritical that you're reacting this way when you had just about an entire thread saying the same thing to you. It was the thread you made called, "Trademarks Associated with SO Members". It was your thread, so you had to see the remarks. Makes me think this is kind of personal with Brian since you didn't take issue with almost identical remarks.

Also, you were out of line in this thread telling brownie he always makes negative threads. That was personal and uncalled for; members have a right to make a thread without anyone telling them they "always this" or "always that".
