Today is the late great Jerry Paris' birthday. He would've been 84 today. He died in 1986 from brain cancer, but his stunning directorial work and charismatic portrayals of characters like Jerry Helper will live on for years to come and for generations to enjoy. Happy birthday, Jerry.

Jerry Paris was an excellent character actor and then went on to become the best director ever in the field of episodic comedy. His deft touch as a director is one of the key reasons that shows like "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and "Happy Days" are timeless classics. Jerry left us far too soon and he is missed. Happy Birthday Jerry!

Some of my favorite DVD episodes were ones featuring Jerry Helper; e.g., 'A Vigilante Ripped My Sports Coat', 'Love Thy Other Neighbor' and 'All About Eavesdropping'. Happy birthday, Jerry. You are missed!
