How was this show? I know it beat all records for a midseason replacement ratings wise, since it was #8 for the entire year, making only 6 episodes. It beat out Three's Company which made six episodes with a #11 rating.

The two episodes I've seen were very good. Now the Ropers aren't the most powerful people on he block anymore! Hehehehehehehe...

Well, the first 6 episode season was very funny, The Ropers were wild...then the second season came along, and it was awful. The Ropers were so boring, Mrs. Roper never seemed sex-starved ever, and Anne was so boring...a mix between Aunt Bea and Joanna Loudon. Another thing was that Jenny was terribly unfunny and mindless.

this was one of those shows you kept routing for to get better...but alas,it never did. Shoulda had them move back in the Threes Company building....as tenants Mr. Furley could lord over!!!Actually, there was one funny episode I can remember:when they first moved into thier new apartment the Threes Company girls dropped in when Helen Roper wasnt home and the neighbor/landlord thought Mr. Roper was swingin' wild with the girls! One of them (Janet?) was in a towel and she came out into the living room while Mr. Roper was dancin with the other one(whoever the Blonde Roommate du jour was then...)VERY FUNNY!Wet-ya-pants-funny!!!

I watched the series during its network run, and to me the show was ok, it was not great, and it was not bad either. We got to know the characters during Three's Company, which made it a lot easier. But there was something missing in this series, I thought the Ropers were better off as support actors rather than carrying a series entirely by themselves.

This is nothing against Norman Fell, and the lady who plays Mrs Roper. Because they are both fabulous actors.

But certain personalities are better suited for support roles rather than the lead role.
