View Full Version : What's your first name??
Brad Russ 07-22-2009, 02:37 PM I've been here for over seven years, but I find that there are still many first names of members that I don't know. This thread is dedicated to people letting everyone know what there first name is. I sometimes feel bad calling people by there username, especially when they're members who have been around for awhile, so I thought I'd start a name call thread. I know many probably don't want their first names known, and I totally respect that, but for those who don't mind, please share you first name with us. Thank you!!!
Courtnee 07-22-2009, 02:51 PM Courtney.
The extra "e" in my username is just a joke.
sunshinefizzy 07-22-2009, 02:57 PM Chelsea. I think the only person that ever called me by my real name was Monika.
Sharop 07-22-2009, 03:00 PM My first name is Stephanie, but I'm known by my middle name, Michelle.
Brad Russ 07-22-2009, 03:25 PM Courtney.
The extra "e" in my username is just a joke.
Oh wow, I didn't know that. I always thought it was cool that your name was spelled with two E's, since most Courtney's end with Y. I think I'll keep calling you Courtnee though. I'm just so use to that, and think it fits you. :D
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 07-22-2009, 04:38 PM Ashlee. With two ee's for real. :p
Marvo301 07-22-2009, 04:46 PM My full first name is Marvin but most people call me Marv.

Zachariah? ;)
tv star collector 07-22-2009, 06:17 PM Karl, with a "K." My mother didn't want my dad and me to have the same
initials (his name was Claire) but liked the name "Carl," so she went with
the German spelling Karl (at my older sister's suggestion).
Darren J. 07-22-2009, 06:19 PM Zachariah? ;)
Close.

beautifuldreamer 07-22-2009, 08:32 PM I'm Matlyn... but everyone calls me Mattie.:D
catlover79 07-22-2009, 11:28 PM Monika - with a "k". Coming from a German family (my dad's mother's side), I got the name with the German spelling. It IS pronounced the same way as Monica.

I'm not sure if you remember, but remember how I use to call you Cathy all the time?? I don't know why I thought your name was Cathy for so many years, but when you finally told me in a pm that your name was Allison, I remember being so embarrassed. lol!! That's one of the reasons I started this thread, I don't ever want to be in that situation again.
Fleet 07-23-2009, 01:17 AM Durwood? Darwin? Dum Dum? (Any Bewitched fan ought to get this.)
Lol, I get it.
She (Endora) also called him "Donald" and "Dennis."
And Maurice, Samantha's father, called him "Dolphin."
Oh, I almost forgot... my first name it Tony, officially Anthony.

Oh yeah! I had forgotten about that. I'm betting you heard dawsongirl's name and then thought, okay, that must be my name too. It's all good. :) I remember thinking it was actually hilarious. I understand being embarrassed, though.

Schmoopie 07-24-2009, 01:22 AM I can't believe I never noticed this thread before! What a great idea. It's always nice to know people by their "real" names, although the screen names are fun too, calling someone by their real name is more personable.
I'm Andrea, by the way, but then most of you already knew that!!!

HuntingtonM15 07-26-2009, 06:37 PM Michael or Mike. I don't really have a preference.
Janice 07-26-2009, 06:59 PM Michael or Mike. I don't really have a preference.
That's interesting. I recently called you Mike, and after I did, I wondered if I'd made a mistake. For some reason, I thought you preferred Michael. With my name, a few people call me Jan, such as two of my stepkids; and when I was in the workplace; some co-workers did. I don't like to be called Jan, but I don't correct anyone who calls me that. I have nothing against the name Jan, but I like to be called my full name, Janice. I do correct those who make the mistake of calling me Janet. You got all that, Mike? ;)

I know twins named Janet and Janice, and they BOTH go by Jan. I have no idea why. It is very confusing. Sorry to hijack the thread, but I just wanted to share that. :)
Back on topic, for those who do not know, my name is Billie.

And you were named after your father, so his name must have been William. :)

I always thought you perferred Michael.
HuntingtonM15 07-26-2009, 08:02 PM I always thought you perferred Michael.
It seems half and half on what people call me. I guess I've just adapted to both.

 Mike is definitely fine. Janice isn't a name that I would ever personally think to shorten unless someone said they preferred it.

Most of my friends call me Roma, but I don't like to have people start calling me that after they already learned my name as "Ramona". I don't think it's fair to all of a sudden shorten your name and expect people to start calling you by that. I came on this site as Ramona, so y'all can call me that lol.
Brad Russ 07-27-2009, 03:47 PM Megan! :)
As always Brad-great thread idea. There's always been members here whose names I never really knew.
Awww, thanks Megan!!! It makes me feel good that you said that, and makes me feel like I'm actually making a decent contribution to these boards. Thanks so much my friend, just you saying that has totally made my day!! :D
Oh and btw, you were actually my main inspiration in starting this thread believe it or not. I had been going crazy for weeks trying to remember your name because you had told me before. I eventually ended up PM'ing Janice asking what's her name again?? And she told me. I would have pm'ed you, but was too embarrassed that I had forgotten. I hope you're not offended that I couldn't remember. There's just so many freaking people here, that it's sometimes hard to keep track. I promise you though, I'll never forget again. ;)
Brad Russ 07-27-2009, 03:52 PM Oh yeah! I had forgotten about that. I'm betting you heard dawsongirl's name and then thought, okay, that must be my name too. It's all good. :) I remember thinking it was actually hilarious. I understand being embarrassed, though.
Yes, it was dawsongirl's name that had me thinking that Cathy was your name. You both have always reminded me of each other in certain ways, in the way you post and stuff, and so yeah, I always got the two of your name's confused. Plus, I think you mentioned Cathy's name in a thread once, and somehow I thought you were saying that it was your name. Whatever though, I know your name now, and that's what's important. :D
Wreckless 07-27-2009, 05:32 PM What's your middle name, Kyle?

Nope :).
It's an Irish name. But it's not the most common name you would think.

Ramona is such a pretty name - and it's very unique. I'd never shorten it. :)

I agree. Helen Hunt Jackson apparently likes that name as well.
She wrote a book called "Ramona" in 1884, which made the name popular.
Nope :).
It's an Irish name. But it's not the most common name you would think.
Brady, Brendan, Brandon, or Barnaby?
See, now I wanna know!

I actually wondered if anybody ever shortened your name, and made it into a nickname- "Ray." I was thinking of calling you that once, because it's a shorter way of calling your name. Apparently I didn't know my own knowledge. I did a little research here and Ramona is the feminine form/name, of "Ramon'". "Ramon'" is the spanish form of "Raymond," which is a masculine name as well obviously. But yeah, I like Roma and Ramona. If it makes things easier for people to call you that, or if you don't like your name, I guess that's an alternative :).
Wreckless 07-27-2009, 08:37 PM Brady, Brendan, Brandon, or Barnaby?
