I read online Season 4 is released only on amazon but they on DVD + or minus R format. This is very poor practice everyone knows DVD + or minus R will not play well on most DVD Player. There might be times that it reads o.k but their will be a lot of freezing problems on the later disc and playing it is like the lottery on your player.
This is a common fact just like buying those crap produced garbage DVD for $2 like in Indonesia they sell.

Probably because Season Three sold so poorly that they made deal with Amazon to release it through them. I have Season Four and have had no problem playing the episodes. If there was a choice between not completing the series or having the remaining two season on DVD-R I'd go with the DVD-R discs.

I can't understand why CD and DVD companies can't figure out a way to make them so that they'll play in ANY player. Greedy for money, I guess. What a shame.

According to http://www.videohelp.com/dvd 89% of DVD players can play DVD+R, and 93% DVD-R. I have never personally come across a DVD player that would not play DVD-R.
Bad media has been the only problem I have experienced with writable DVDs, and in the early days, I was seeing disks with visible defects and high failure rates. In recent years however, even the cheapest media has been very reliable. I can think of only one instance recently, where a disk failed a verification after being written.
If you're concerned, feel free to post an MD5 of the files on your disk for comparison (I haven't got mine yet).
