I was thinking today that maybe if we had an off-topic thread it might get everyone's posting juices flowing again...and if no one has any objections to it I'd like to give it a try.

I went to the movies with my daughter this afternoon and saw a very unique movie...its called "Moon" and stars Sam Rockwell (The Green Mile, Matchstick Men, Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind) and was absolutely stunning! Has anyone else seen or heard of this movie? If so...let's talk about it.

Love y'all

Its an awesome movie. Its an "indie" film that made its debut earlier this year at the South BY Southwest festival here in Austin and got rave reviews. It opened in only 2 cities; New York and Los Angeles and got huge reviews and then opened in selected cities. Its only playing in one theatre here in town.
The cruxt of the movie is this: Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) is an astronaut who has been commisioned to harvest energy from the moon's surface for 3 years...leaving his wife and child on earth. He is completely alone on his mission except for a friendly computer (played by the voice of Kevin Spacey) who keeps him company and is like a sidekick. Sam has 2 weeks left before his mission is done and he can come back to earth...when all hell breaks loose on the moon! LOL
That is all I'm going to say because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. But I will say this; the movie makes you think about our value (or lack thereof) as humans and how expendible we would be in the pursuit of money and energy.
I have to hand it to Sam Rockwell though. He is basically the only actor in this movie and his ability to carry a 2 hour film is amazing! The movie is thought-provoking and stunning to watch. Its a must-see and I should really try to find work as a film critic lololol.
Peace and luv to y'all

Did Sam play a bad guy in the Charlie's Angel's movie? I think that was him; I liked him in that!
