It appears that three 14 was right, (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=249303) there was a rare sketch for sale on eBay. The good news is, the sketch was 1952's "The Turkey," which has been considered lost for many years. I've attached pictures of the sketch from the auction along with the famous still from "The Honeymooners Lost Episodes" book, which confirms that it is in fact "The Turkey." The bad news is, the auction ended on July 7th, and we don't know who won or if any copies of the 16mm print were made by the seller. I noticed that 48 people viewed three 14's thread since it was posted, so I'm hoping one of those people was the winner. If anybody has any information about this, please contact me.

Here's the description of the show from the auction:
"THE JACKIE GLEASON SHOW"

WITH SPECIAL GUEST STAR
PATTI PAGE

Includes the opening dance sequences, monologue by
Gleason, two songs by Patti Page and a riotious honeymooners
sketch involving Alice misplacing her wedding ring which involves
a live turkey that turns into two live turkey's.
That description seems to go against my theory that this is an earlier version of "Two-Family Car," but at least after all these years we've gotten some plot information. Hopefully we'll be able to see the episode for ourselves sometime soon...this may be something that Gleason Enterprises doesn't even have!

Well, we might not be able to watch the episode for ourselves just yet, but here's an exclusive description of "The Turkey" from the company that sold the print on eBay:

Alice misplaces her wedding ring. She has bought a Turkey that someone won in a raffle. Ralph comes home and she tells him about the misplaced and/or lost wedding ring and he 'assumes' the turkey ate the ring. The skit gets more and more hysterical from that point on as Ralph comes up with every possible way to get the ring he 'thinks' the turkey ate and Norton drops by only to make matters even more ritious then they already are with his insane idea's about how to get the ring out of the turkey. The man who won the turkey is about to show up to get it, and Ralph sends Norton to go buy another turkey so he doesn't have to give the guy the turkey he thinks the ring is in. However, the turkey's are identical and Norton sets down the second turkey next to the first one and now they can't remember which turkey is the original and which is the one Norton just purchaed. These are 'live' turkey's so that makes things even ten time funnier and gets totally out of control when the winner comes and insists on getting his turkey and say's it doesn't matter which one.. that he'll just take either of the two.

Looks like I was wrong with my "Two-Family Car" theory, but at least it's an all-new storyline (to us that is).

Hello-

Do you happen to know the exact seller or buyers name of ebay to do a search.

Also do you know how much the auction went for?

Thanks,
Chris

The print sold for just over $200 last July, which is pretty cheap considering how rare this footage is. eBay no longer displays bidders user names, so unfortunately we don't know who the winner was, but the people that sold the print made a copy, and MPI as well as Jackie Gleason Enterprises have been notified. If you need any further information, feel free to PM me.

Imagine having Gleason Enterprises, CBS or MPI coming to me asking for it.
I would make sure the right people had it for everyone to see.
I would have paid triple.... just wish I knew it was being sold.
UGH!!

Does anyone have any contact information for either Seller or Buyer of the aforementioned Jackie Gleason Show (The Turkey Honeymooners) from the July 2009 ebay auction?
I'd like to give a try in persuading either party to get a "collector to collector" copy to the collector community. Thanks,

We never figured out who the buyer was, and there's no use trying to persuade the seller...believe me, we've tried. I'll PM you with more details.

It would be great to know more about this situation. Would you be willing to post the information in this thread?

Basically, the seller refused to make a copy for anyone other than the copyright holder(s), who are aware of the show's existence, so yet another person contacting the seller a year later with the same story is like beating a dead horse.

Thanks for the reply! I find it hard to believe that a kinescope that is 58 years old would still have copyrights but I'm no expert on that issue. Here's a link to some interesting information about copyrights:
