The Facts Of Life- It stays on a network for a short period of time, then dissapears sharpishly.

Gimme A Break- I remember seeing it on USA YEARS AGO, but have not seen it in reruns ever since.

Jesse- Used to air on USA in 2001, but airs no where now.

California Dreams- Like The Facts Of Life, it stays on a network for only a short period of time.

The Hogan Family- I remember back in the early '90s, it aired at 4am on some station. It was on ABC Family in 2006, then dissapeared sharpishly.

Diff'rent Strokes- Even though this lasted 8 seasons in its original run, it airs on a network in reruns for a short period of time, then vanishes.

Just The Ten of Us - I haven't seen it on regularly since it was on USA. I really miss this one.

Every sitcom only WGN pretty much fits this idea (minus Bewitched and Jeannie). Now they aren't shafted, yay!

The last time I saw Blossom on tv was in 1997. The local Fox station in my area used to air episodes at 3 everyday. I do miss other shows like Jesse, California Dreams and The Facts of Life.

Other shows I haven't seen in reruns in a long are Webster and Punky Brewster.

Family Ties: it aired on TBS for a long-time and then stupid Nick @ Nite wasted it before dumping it to TV LAND where it didn't last very long.

Felicity: it didn't last long on WE and hasn't really been seen since.

Everwood - Ran on the WB for four seasons up until Satan (aka. Dawn Owstroff who however you spell it...) cancelled it. Ran on ABC Family once and has been since never on TV. At least they made an effort and released season two on DVD last month. Hoping we see Season 3 on DVD before the year comes to an end!

Empty Nest- The show would fit well with its sister show "Golden Girls" on WE or Hallmark. It ran for exactly as long as TGG and was just as good. I'd love to see it. It never is aired on cable. The last time I saw it on TV was in 2000 on WSBK in Boston. I believe WGN aired it for a while in the late 90s-early 2000s, but no true cable station ever touched it.

of the dramas only Buffy, Angel, Felicty, One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls 7th Heaven and Dawson's creek ever had a long life in syndication.

but with the sitcoms: What i like about you, reba, the wayans brothers, the steve harvey show, sister sister, smart guy, clueless, everybody hates chris, sabrina the teenage witch, The Game, For your love and the jamie fox show all showed up in syndication at various points. In fact i believe that Sabrina hasn't left syndication since it first entered it.

the odd thing about that is that in their original runs those dramas were more higly rated and acclaimed than the sitcoms mentioned above.

I miss NYPD Blue. They used to show the reruns, but not anymore.

A Different World - my local station reran that show for almost 4 years straight, but when it comes to cable reruns, this show lasts 4 months at most. N@N ran a marathon of this show then took it off the sked. BET once gave it a shot, they too yanked it off their sked liek N@N did!

The Hogan Family - ABC Family treated this show like pure crap from day damn one!! They can run countless promos for Dull House, er I mean Full House, but nada for this show?! WTF?!?! :mad:

Perfect Strangers - TV Land, N@N, and ION treated this show horribly in different ways. Both TV Land and N@N reran only the 1st 4 seasons to dull drums. ION didn't even give this show much chance to shine long enough.

Silver Spoons - My local station reran only the 1st season of this show and nothing from the other seasons.

I don't subscribe to digital cable in Canada (too expensive, plus I have a lot of good shows on DVD)

okay so that makes it 12 comedies to 8 dramas. It's clear the comedies are a bigger hit in syndication as compared to their dramas which were there bread and butter for most of the networks life.

The original All That was on The N for a while in 2008. But the other shows haven't been seen in a long time. Maybe when The N becomes Teen Nick this Fall, some of the old Nick shows will come back.

I do know that The N is currently airing a short-lived Nickelodeon teen drama from the early 2000s called Caitlin's Way. I recently watched some eps. but I could not get into this one.

However, Andy Dick was in one of the eps. I saw in a small role. I had no idea that he appeared on this one.

We will soon get our Cathy & Patty fix on DVD September 29th. All 36 uncut SEASON ONE episodes plus the rare pilot in glorious black and white. Thank God Shout Factory listened to the fans and maybe saw Patty Duke resurrecting her TV twin cousins for those social security ads.

Not to make anybody feel bad but Dejaview, a Canadian channel, airs The Rifleman weekdays from 11AM-12PM and then from 12-1PM is the Wonder Years.

Maverick - It seems like this show gets traunced around on both cable and local reruns. My local station had it around for no more than 3 months at most, even at one point pairing up with James Garner's other hit show "The Rockford Files." And TV Land didn't even keep this show around long enough either.

A show like The Wonder Years thats both shafted in rerun airings and no sign of a DVD release, or The Facts of Life, which has its dvd releases stalled, that really sucks! But some of these other shows that are getting releases well it makes me enjoy(the dvds) them even more. Some shows I haven't seen in years, or never seen.

It really makes no sense about Wonder Years. It's one of the most popular shows ever, dvd release prob won't happen (if it does no music -- no point) and not one channel bothers airing it in reruns. Come to think of it Boy Meets World is sort of the same thing just less of a classic obviously. Maybe the Savages have been cursed lol no more reruns for you!

Good thing for torrents, I watched all 115 episodes by downloading them in decent quality. They are recorded from N@N, TNN, and Fox Family. Wow, that just felt like 2002 right there. Spike and ABC Family came in 2003 I think or end of 2002.

On a small side note, has anyone ever not seen a show for some time (say it wasn't on reruns or what have you) and then you finally manage to catch it again and then you realize you can't stand it?

I have that problem with the Cosby Show and a few others. I loved them when they came out but now I couldn't watch them if my life depended on it.

I prefer buying the box sets to my favorite shows, I can't stand what they do now with reruns: they cut up the episodes, run them out of order, show only the same block of episodes over and over, etc.

Chico and the Man is another one that got shafted in re-runs. And the Partridge Family, Monkees, Patty Duke & tons of other old 50's-70s shows. Love the Monkees & Patty Duke show. Enjoyed those when they were originally on. I'm so glad World Harvest is showing Patty Duke now. I am sure enjoying it on there. I also miss Amos & Andy. It was another good one I used to watch as a kid...

thirtysomething and party of five virtually dissappeared after their inital runs ended. I've never seen either in reruns since, PO5 used to show up randomly on the Lifetime schedule at like 4 or 5 am, but that was way back in like 2000 or 2001. i don't think ive seen it since.

Punky Brewster hasn't been around in reruns since the late 1990's. i know the last time it was seen was in 2000ish on WSBK in Boston, Massachusetts where it used to run at like 3am every other saturday or something like that.

i agree PF got shafted in reruns, despite airing on FX for many years.

I'd say "Ally McBeal" also got shafted. by the time it reached syndication it wasn't very popular anymore. I remember when it reached syndication on FX along with Dharma & Greg reading an article about how FX had secured the rights to those shows when they were peaking in popularity but by the time the shows came to the network they had faded from popularity and weren't big hits. AM lasted only a few years on the network and D&G as far as i know is still on the network right?

I think a few of those shows just didn't have great ratings in syndication so no one really wants to show reruns again. Also the Facts of life and different strokes are on demand if you have comcast so they kinda are still in reruns.:D

Sorry, Facts, I was using their availability on local network affiliates, not cable TV, as a measuring gauge since I don't have cable--or satellite, for that matter.

maybe not anymore but when it first came to ABC Family it was getting massive airtime.

Another one that i notice is the earlier episodes (s1-s9) of Law & Order because every time i look at the on-screen guide all i see are episodes from s10-s19,it's like the the 1st 9 seasons never existed in TNT eyes.
