Haha, I don't even understand this thread. What's wrong with Seinfeld. Excuse me, I'm almost 19 years old, but I barely know what promote is. We use the same word in Sweden, but still explain here.

It sounds to me like he's talking about the theme of "Seinfeld" being about "Nothing", like when Jerry and George pitched the TV show idea to NBC. George suggested that it be about "nothing", meaning just a show involving characters that just live a normal life with no dramatic affairs or anything like that (ie: Chinese Restaurant, movie theatre, etc).

Hmm... how to explain "promote"...? Well, when you promote something, it's like advertising a particular thing. For instance if a TV series was constantly showing people drinking beer, it might influence the viewers to do the same. Or maybe a TV series like American Idol, which features would-be singers might inspire a viewer to try their hand at singing or some other talent.

Hope that helps! I was kind of surprised at the title of this thread as well, but now I see that it was all done in fun. He was being sarcastic.

I know what you mean Bri - I watched the entire run of the show and never once saw a good spanking or any form of child abuse!!! I'm surprised it was rated as high as it was!! ;)

It should have ended with George in a gimp mask and Kramer......

And don't forget the valuable information people learned about "double dipping", "shrinkage" and "pop-in's"!!!!!

Who knew Seinfeld could be so educational!!!! Man, I wish they would have "taught" Seinfeld when I was in school!!!

When were 3 Musketeers bars promoted? The only candy bar I remember being promoted were Snickers bars, which someone was eating w/ knife & fork on the Season 7 ep "The Pledge Drive".

I don't remember them talking about 3 Musketeers, but I remember the knife and fork bit VERY well! That was hilarious! I should try it sometime! The only people who wouldn't think I was nuts would probably be Seinfeld fanatics!

Verified (?) that Mr. Pitt took out a Three Musketeers and ate it with a knife and fork. IIRC, Geo. Costanza ate the Snickers bar that way -- and anyway, they're both manufactured by the same company.

Oh Henry! candy bars were also promoted as the heiress to the Oh Henry fortune went in public wearing only a bra.

Also: It should be mentioned that Seinfeld bought his parents a new Cadillac auto.

There were lots of name brands overall... -- especially if you include all of the cereals on display in Jerry's kitchen, and I think at one time he had a box of Donruss baseball cards on top of his fridge.

Rold Gold pretzles were in one episode. Jason Alexander was doing commercials for them at the time.

When George was mentioning silly baby names, Jerry was exagerating baby names. Maxwell House Coffee was mentioned!
