Kasey 07-12-2009, 02:36 PM I think we will see a Season 2 release by Christmas. Amazon in US and Canada have both seen impressive sales in pre-orders thus far. Of course many buyers, myself included, wait until the product is in stores to buy. LittleRickyII 07-12-2009, 03:19 PM The only factor I can see that might cause a delay in season two is that a lot of effort is being put into making sure these DVD sets are high quality -- more effort than is devoted to most TV show DVD releases. I know a couple people who are intimately involved, and doing the most legwork, are doing this as a side job: it's not their regular job and they're volunteering a lot of their time. I'm talking about huge fans of the show who want to make sure it's done right and that a truly quality product gets out the door that will leave customers longing for more. Of course, CBS execs ultimately get to make the decision on when the next product is released, but I am speculating they could defer some of that decision-making to the guys doing the real work. This makes me appreciate this first season more! I guess I'm jumping the gun anticipating more seasons, but this was my first thought when I saw its pre-release sales. I'm glad to know all thats gone into this release, and ultimately would must rather wait for top-notch product. Robert 13 07-13-2009, 10:24 AM I'm really hoping to see Season 2 released by November or December. That would be magnificent! But I'm just glad to be able to watch the holiday episodes in remastered quality this season. Looking forward to the Bank Safe 2-parter in Season 2 as well as the baking contest episode and the redecorating episode. :) Jude The Obscure 07-17-2009, 12:17 AM And who knows how many copies will be sold through other online stores such as DeepDiscount and Buy.com. One way to know if CBS is working on season two is to go the CBS Distribution Bible website and look for the Lucy Show. If it says, that season 2 has been transferred to HD, then we know it will be on its way to DVD release :) McGillicuddy 07-17-2009, 05:15 PM And who knows how many copies will be sold through other online stores such as DeepDiscount and Buy.com. So my guess is we won't see Season 2 this year. (I'm not complaining, I'm appreciative of the results of Season ONE, and grateful to all who put time and energy into it!) Jude The Obscure 07-19-2009, 01:18 PM I'm sure CBS will be very encouraged by how well TLS Season 1 has done and will strike while the iron is hot and get season 2 (and maybe even 3) worked on. I think sales will taper off a LOT by the time Season 3 is released, because not that many people will want the California era. After all, it is LUCY. I think many Lucy fans will want to see all those low-quality, rough looking public domain episodes cleaned up and remastered. Though I'm much more excited about season 1, also 2 & 3, I would like to think the whole series will eventually be released, especially since all her other stuff is going to be available. Benno123 07-20-2009, 01:31 PM I think another reason we will see the release of the entire series is because of the competition with the Here's Lucy releases. CBS is not going to want to lose the income of all the fans, though I do have a feeling that all 6 seasons of HL will be out before all the seasons of TLS. Jude The Obscure 07-20-2009, 04:47 PM Whatever gets her out to her fans, I'm all for it! Yes, even Life with Lucy :D McGillicuddy 07-20-2009, 05:55 PM I think another reason we will see the release of the entire series is because of the competition with the Here's Lucy releases. Let's keep in mind where were at: MPI has announced their commitment to Here's Lucy all 6 seasons plus 8 Lucy Specials CBS has released The Lucy Show Season 1, but has yet to announce or commit to anything further. What we can do is speculate and hope for subsequent seasons. And nobodys made any announcement about Life With Lucy, but we can HOPE it will be released too!!! Benno123 07-20-2009, 07:20 PM Just got back from the store and I hold in my hands season 1 of The Lucy Show -- yay!!! Who owns Life with Lucy? I have heard Spelling Productions, yet I do not see Lucille Ball doing a show without her ownership involved. |
