Betty Garrett is probably best known as landlady Edna Babish on the '70s TV series "Laverne & Shirley."

I saw Betty recently in an old movie called "My Sister Eileen". She was a great song and dance performer! It's she shame she never became a bigger star in movies. She certainly had the talent!

I loved that movie, too - and she still looks great. :D

Betty had a very big role, including dancing, in "On the Town" (1949) with Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra. Also in that film was Alice Pearce in a small role, best known as the original Gladys Kravitz on Bewitched. It's fun to see them interact with some of show business' biggest names.

I LOVE "On the Town", it's one of my all time favorite musicals. Betty Garrett was terrific in that role and she really had an opportunity to showcase her comedic, singing, and dancing skills in that flick. It's so sad that both she and her husband, Larry Parks, were victimized by the McCarthy witch hunt in the 1950s.

She was also Irene Lorenzo, Archie Bunker's neighbor, on All In The Family.

At least she looks real and not plastic surgeried to death. God bless her.

I always thought she was much funnier as Irene Lorenzo on 'AITF' than Mrs.babbish on 'L&S'.

First Connie Hines, now this. Betty Garrett is the second actor featured in TMZ's "Then and Now" page to pass away. :rip:
