I am trying to complete a trivia game and am stuck on a question. I am hoping that someone here could help me out with the question!

Pertaining to the Beverly Hillbillies, the question is "What singer appeared as himself *sort of* and his mother?"

Also, I am pretty sure that "Jed and Jethro" is the answer to the question "Who arrived too late to help Granny with the Indian attack?" but could it be John Wayne?

John Wayne did appear in the episode "The Indians Are Coming," Season 5, 1967. (He was not credited.) I'm uncertain though regarding the question.
