I was talking to a friend of mine today about girls, relationships etc. and we came across debating the "2 day rule" when it comes to building relationships, which is that it used to be a guy after getting a girl's number should wait 2 days then call, not to seem desperate, but don't wait a week or longer, so the girl knows he is at least interested to talk to her. I am in favor of debunking the rule. I think if the number is given, use it...and hesitation is stupid as hell, or else you're wasting an opportunity, generally speaking. What do you think of this rule- girls and guys? Girls, what is your reaction, and what would your advice be, and guys- what do you think?

btw, for all of y'all in relationships or engaged/married, I'd still welcome & respect ur opinion on this subject matter.

I agree with you, Kyle... I mean, if I gave a guy my number, I'd be really happy if he called the next day... if he called later the same day, I'd think it was a little desperate... depends on the guy though.:D

I think two days seems reasonable. Like Mattie said, the same day would seem a little desperate. I think longer than 2-4 days isn't good-it just sends the message that you're not interested.

I think if a girl gives you her number she would expect a call if not that evening then the next day at least.

If a girl gives a guy her number she is obviously interested. If she gives him his number on a Friday, that guy should call by Sunday evening at the latest. Thats what I would do because I wouldnt want her to think I was too desperate. If you wait till Monday then I think that might be too late. Then again I guess it depends on the woman.

When I was still dating I would usually call the following evening, sometimes I would just ask when it would be a good time to call them.

The situation with my wife was a little different since since we knew each other, shared a road trip together, and went to dinner and a movie together before we even actually went on our "first date"- all the rules were out the window on that one.
