Actor Jeff Goldblum draws positives from the false reports he died last month - because they helped him reconnect with old friends.

Reports surfaced online last month claiming the Jurassic Park star had been killed on the set of his latest movie in New Zealand - just hours after Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett died.

Goldblum's publicist was quick to blast the rumors, branding them "completely untrue," while reps for Britney Spears and George Clooney have also had to fight off similar claims.

The actor insists he wasn't upset by the hoax, and has even credited the reckless media with helping him get back in touch with old pals.

He says, "This was a rare opportunity to experience your own death. (Fans) still run into me on the street (and say), 'Glad to see you're alive!' I reconnected with people I hadn't seen in a long time. I wasn't angry I was touched."

It's nice to see that Jeff was able to take something positive out of all this!

I never thought about it that way, but having people think that you had died would truly show how much people care about you. Glad he's got such a good attitude about the whole thing.
