Big Lots (or Odd Lots) stores in the U.S. are now selling Season 1 of Knots Landing for just $6.00. What a deal! A nice gift idea. Thought I would just alert everyone. I just missed getting an extra box (a woman had it in her cart). I'll have to try one of the other locations.

I went to Big Lots last night just to see if they had gotten any new box sets since last week. After I read your post on the Dallas message board, I was curious. And, sure enough, they had all kinds of season boxsets there. I was surprised that they had Knots Landing Season One for only six dollars. They even had a Blu Ray season set of Smallville (I think????) for only six dollars. I don't have a blu ray player. But I got the Season One of Knots Landing. They also had Dallas seasons seven and nine; ER; Roots; and other box sets. I could not believe all the season box sets for only six dollars each.

I've watched the first two episodes of Season One so far of Knots Landing. It was funny but in episode two when J.R. comes to Knots Landing to see Val and Gary, when J.R. first shows up and gets out of the limo, and he walks over to Val . . . he is introduced to Karen and it sounds like he introduces himself as "Gary Ewing" instead of saying "J.R. Ewing." I rewound it again just to make sure but that's what it sounded like both times. :happyface

I'm glad you found Knots Landing, and that's an interesting J.R. anecdote!
Back in 1988-89 or so, a friend of mine was quite a fan. "Knots Landing -- That's my show!" I'm looking forward to giving the series a close viewing.
I had heard that people found Smallville sets at Big Lots, which was surprising (I didn't know they were in that format, however, and anyway I don't have a player either).
