I've been watching my DVDs lately and I really want a reunion. The thing is though, what are the chances that any of them would be working at the Sunshine Cab Company still? I'd imagine they're retired. So basically the reunion would turn out to be like that episodes "On the Job", but instead of a month away from eachother, it's a couple decades away from eachother.

I'd like to think that Bobby finally made it as an actor once he moved to L.A. Also, maybe a couple years after the show ended, Alex and Elaine finally realize they're in love and decide to do something about it. Louie might still be there. I can't imagine he'd want to give that job up. It's perfect for him.

It's 2009. We already lost Andy Kaufman. I don't mean to be harsh, but Jeff Conaway might not be with us too much longer what with his drug problem. And Christopher Lloyd is getting up there in age. I want them to do it before another cast member dies.

I'm actually very sad about Jeff Conaway. Drugs ruined him. I can't get that TV Land Awards show out of my mind. He looked terrible. It's a shame.

Not too long ago Danny Devito mentioned he wants to do a TAXI movie. Whether it actually happens is anyone's guess.

Chris Lloyd is still active; soon we'll be seeing him battling fish in Piranha 3-D.

At least we know Devito is one who's up for something.

In another thread I started, I mention a book I have called "Hailing Taxi." It was done in, I believe the late eighies. In that book all the actors said they'd gladly come back for a reunion movie. Now I know that was a while ago and some may have changed their minds, but we already have Danny DeVito still on board. I think Christopher Lloyd would do it. I can picture Tony Danza doing it. Heck, I can picture them all agreeing to it. Though Judd Hirsch may try to hold out for more money. The book also mentions how he wanted more money at the beginning of season five - the season that almost didn't happen and he wants more money! Of course I'm glad they paid him or worked it out however they did. Because "Taxi" would not be the same without Alex Rieger as the central character.

I have that book too, got it last year. Great read.

I can definitely see Marilu doing a reunion. She always speaks fondly about her Taxi years. :D

I got it probably two years ago. A friend of mine had it and when he found out I was a fan of "Taxi" he just gave it to me. He was promoted to being my best friend at that moment, lol.

Being too depressed about no season four on DVD, I didn't really read the whole book. I'd just skim the pages. But now that season four is announced and I'm in my Taxi mood, it's a great book to have.

If this were to happen I dont think Jeff Connelly would be a part of this unless he gets himself together.

Has anyone heard anything about Jeff Conaway lately?? Carol Kane?

I saw Carol Kane on an episode of Two and a Half Men several months ago. She played the crazy, hippie mother of Alan's girlfriend. She made hash brownies and gave some to Alan and they ended up sleeping together and the daughter caught them.

As for a Taxi reunion, I'd love to see one too! I think they could pull it off if they got some of the writers, directors and producers who worked on the show. I could see Alex still working for Sunshine cab, maybe part time. I could also see Tony and Elaine still working there, they're both in their 50's so that could work. Not sure about Jim, but I think they could find a clever way to work him in there. Louie could be the owner and Jeff could be the dispatcher.

Carol was hilarious in that episode of Two and a Half Men. That was the funniest thing I've seen on television in a long long time!

Reminds me of the Taxi episode, "Latka's Cookies".

I would love to see the cast together again, but as the original poster said, it would be tricky. It's been 26 years since the show was cancelled, and the characters would almost certainly all be gone from the Sunshine Cab Company. I'd think even Louie would be gone, no doubt having saved a ton of money being cheap and craven for 40 years, lol.

I still think it would be worth it though. Maybe a reunion of sorts, to celebrate someone's birthday or wedding or maybe the destruction of the cab company building could bring them all together to reminisce? You'd have to have closure to all their stories, as we'd probably never see them again and the show never did have a "final" episode. Maybe hook up Alex (retired [but not wealthy] with wise investments, and maybe working on a book about the business) and Elaine (maybe teaching art at a community college?) finally, make Tony a respected boxing coach (or at least a coach, lol), Bobby could be a infomerical dude (don't want any of them to be TOO successful, it would ruin their charm), Jim, retired to a life of hemp farming and selling 60's memorabilia (I figure he'd have blown his fortune long ago), Louie in real estate or something similarly lucrative but semi-shady, and Jeff a lawyer who clashes with Louie all the time :) .

Simka would be harder. You'd have to deal with Latka's absence, so maybe you'd actually have him passed away and her trying to raise money to get back to Caspiar to see her family and needing the help of her former friends.

I dunno. I'd love to see them all again, that's for sure. :)

^ I still think the cast would get together for at least a retrospective. Nearly all of them showed up in Man on the Moon.
