littlebelle 07-06-2009, 06:04 PM This pic is of a diner on main street in middletown called O'Rourkes. It burnt down a few years ago and everyone in town donated money to rebuild and reopen it. Guy Fieri featured the restaurant on his Food Network show 'Diners, Drive-ins & Dives'.
You have a beautiful neighborhood Kimberlee!
PunkyP0WER 07-06-2009, 06:09 PM Thanks, Ramona! Yours is equally lovely. What is the 3rd picture of, thats really pretty. The Cambodian festival too looks awesome!
Nighthawk76 07-06-2009, 06:13 PM Those are beautiful pictures that both of you have posted. Ramona, I really like the third picture. The one taken at night. Kim, your first picture is beautiful. I'm sorry to say that I have never been to either one of your states.
Fleet 07-06-2009, 06:34 PM Here are a few photos I took of my area...

I LOOOOVE that show!! And I saw the episode with O'Rourkes Diner. All the food looked so yummy-especially the banana bread french toast. My mouth was watering!
Nighthawk76 07-06-2009, 06:45 PM I live in Schaumburg, IL. Illinois ranks with Indiana, Ohio and Iowa as the most boring state in the country, so it was difficult to find any good pictures. Picture one is of the library and picture two is inside Woodfield Mall during the Chriatmas holidays.

The library and the area aroud it is really nice. Sometimes at night I'll walk over there and sit on a bench by the water and just think.
Nighthawk76 07-06-2009, 06:55 PM Schaumburg High School. This is where I went to high school from 1991 to 1995.
ZeldaGilroy 07-06-2009, 07:17 PM I love the mall pic Mike. I always love a good day of shopping at Christmas time and that looks like a lovely place!

It's the center for a brand new housing development they recently built. They have been doing a lot of construction of new homes, condo's and recreational areas. Yeah, the KHMR (Cambodian) New Year festival is a big deal here, a long w/ Jubilee days and Lunar New Year.
ZeldaGilroy 07-06-2009, 07:24 PM Pictures of Topeka, KS
State Capitol Building, Topeka High School, Historic Ward-Mead Park, BoBo's Drive In (which also appeared on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives)

Hehe, I knew somebody was going to ask me that. But no, it's not, lol. My house is more like those quadrant type houses like these (but not as new or nice as these):

Well it's not the hood but lets just say it's not one of the nicer areas of Seattle. Like if you ask people that live on alki or the admiral district they'll tell you that White Centers "scary" or "the ghetto". They're full of **** though so it's all good. And my house isn't even that nice but it's a newish house and it's a two story.

yeah my neighborhood is exactly like that as well. the ghetto is a few streets behind us, no lie. my house is small.

Was that in a movie too? Looks familiar LOL
PunkyP0WER 07-06-2009, 09:53 PM This is the high school from my hometown. I never went to it though, as it was built after I graduated and it cost an obscene amount of money.
Anyway, I couldn't find any pics of the old high school, however, it will be famous soon enough. Wes Craven used it in his upcoming movie 25/8. He filmed on location in our town and used the old vacant high school for some scenes.

 you're crazy Mike! No I don't think I'm famous enough for the whole school to be named after me, but I'll settle with the drama department being named in my honor, in recognition for all my histrionics!

ZeldaGilroy 07-06-2009, 10:29 PM Billie, those pictures of your high achool are amazing. :)
Thanks Mike, but I didn't go to school there (well actually I did go there one summer for driver's ed.) We have several highschools here and I went to a different one. It's not nearly as pretty as Topeka High though so I didn't post a pic of it. I was going to when I read your reply and I couldn't even find one online. That's how unimpressive it is to look at.
I found this partial pic on the Topeka Public Schools website. Here it is...Highland Park High School, home of the Fighting Scots (yeah...seriously )
comedyfreak 07-06-2009, 10:40 PM Ghetto or average, you decide.

I have some older ones, like what my street looked like 100 years ago.
InspectorExstead 07-07-2009, 06:08 PM Okay, so here are some pictures of my neighborhood!
The first is a nearby shopping center.
The second picture is of the theater in this shopping center.
The third picture is from a canyon that I often drive to get to the beach. It's got great views, especially at night. There's a place on the canyon where cars can park and it's a great place to take pictures.
The fourth picture is of a outdoor mall that's near the beach. It's about two or three blocks away from the beach, so it's within perfect walking distance.
And the last picture is of the pier and boardwalk. It's the perfect place to be during the summer!!
InspectorExstead 07-07-2009, 06:11 PM This is a picture of Venice Beach, also known as Muscle Beach. It's about 20-30 minutes away from me, but I go there a lot. There's tons of shops along the boardwalk that have everything. It's a great place to be during the summer.
Tweety 07-08-2009, 11:44 AM Kim's from Conn. :)
Ah ok, thanks  The pics were beautiful, I miss fall colors down here (in FL)

It's such a great place isn't it? I always go there when I'm feeling down or am stressed. Just sitting by the waters is a great way to relax. I wish I could afford to rent an apartment in the area!
