Agreed. I don't believe there's any excuses for something like that, but I still love her to death. I've been following Chris Mann on facebook and he said he's spoken to her and that she will probably be setting the record straight soon. I really need to hear what she has to say. I'm worried about her, honestly, as this seems so out of character. I'm glad she or no one else was hurt and hope that she learns from this mistake. A very dangerous and irresponsible thing to do.

I agree. The comments are ridiculous. After all, she's 60 now, and it IS a mug shot. Helen Mirren is a very attractive woman in her 60's, but if there was a mug shot of her taken while intoxicated, I doubt it would be all that nice!

Mug shots aren't intended to be attractive at all, but that is by far the worst picture I've ever seen. In all seriousness, though, John Ritter would be appalled if he knew about this. I never thought she would do something like this either.

It's sad how drunk driving is becoming more and more commonplace among stars, but I'm glad they are being treated like anyone else in this situation. Even if some of these people aren't stars of today, they are still well-known and people look up to them. It's a shame, the kind of example they are setting. A lot of these celebs are probably either thinking "I'm a celeb and I can do anything I want", or "I was only really popular back when my show was on, so no one will care what I do now." Major wrong on both accounts.

No kidding it was a stupid thing to do. I don't think I could've made more clear my feelings on that. I'm very sorry to hear that. Honestly, I am. And look, I wasn't making assumptions so much as I am trying to point out that making cheap shots is a petty thing to do because that gets people no where. People make mistakes and unfortunately, sometimes it leads to cases like yours. Thankfully it didn't with her. There are plenty of cases when people just don't think, no matter how old they are. It happens and it's terrible and I hope to God she's learned her lesson. I am by no means defending her actions, but am simply stating that good people make mistakes and while some are worse than others, none of us can say we're completely innocent and joking about it is just pointless, especially when it is such a serious topic.

It was shocking to hear of her, but yah, alcoholism can hit anyone - actually when you think of it, seems most of Hollywood / Entertainment Industry have some sort of addiction to something. Pretty sad.

One of the hardest things to do when dealing with any kind of addiction or maladaptive behavior is to separate the person from the behavior. That is, you can still love (or at least not hate) the person but hate the behavior.

A close family member of mine was an alcoholic, and I can't say I was always successful in separating the two, unfortunately.

In Dawn Wells case, It just goes to show you what media sensationalism can do, I didn't even remember the details of her arrest, I just remember her mug shot, and the media overblowing it. But then it was forgotten about. Hopefully Joyce Dewitt can overcome this in time too.

Based on the look of that mug shot, I think Joyce DeWitt should pop out her eyeballs like Kim Goodman. Ten years ago, I met what looked like Joyce Dewitt at a market somewhere in Mexico City. The first time I saw her, I said: "Joyce Dewitt? So that's where you've been?". She responded to my statement by blowineg a kiss at me and nothing else.

And then ten years later she gets arrested for DUI. I would not respect any person whose first name is "Joyce".
