View Full Version : Joyce Dewitt ARRESTED for D.U.I.!!!!! ClarenceAlabama 07-06-2009, 04:10 PM She was arrested on the fourth of July. Here's her mug shot...... http://www.tmz.com/2009/07/06/joyce-dewitt-mug-shot/ catlover79 07-06-2009, 04:17 PM I'm seeing that all over the web, too. Good lord, I thought she had more sense than this! spunkygirl 07-06-2009, 04:35 PM Holy crap that's one scary looking mugshot  TryN2BGood 07-06-2009, 04:41 PM I don't know why she ever thought she needed a nose job...yikes!! Scoobiedoo30 07-06-2009, 04:55 PM Holy Smoke Marvo301 07-06-2009, 06:09 PM Hey Joyce, if you're going to party at the Regal Beagle make sure to arrange for safe travel home!!!! janet42 07-06-2009, 06:21 PM I'm glad she was stopped before she got into an accident. HuntingtonM15 07-06-2009, 07:06 PM This one is a bit of a surprise. I understand how you feel. Janet Wood would be so disappointed in her!! catlover79 07-06-2009, 11:54 PM That is an awful picture. She's giving Nick Nolte a run for his money. C_ME 07-07-2009, 04:11 AM Janet was always the voice of reason on Three's Company. This is just more proof that everyone makes mistakes. Live and learn. sunshinefizzy 07-07-2009, 08:12 AM  I'm speechless. Fleet 07-07-2009, 09:03 PM I offered to drive her home last time she was at the autograph show I go to. She should have taken up my offer! Seriously, unfortunately, sometimes actors and actresses do not resemble or behave like their characters do. Some of them are very different from their characters. catlover79 07-07-2009, 09:15 PM I offered to drive her home last time she was at the autograph show I go to. She should have taken up my offer! Janet Wood would be so disappointed in her!! Agreed. I don't believe there's any excuses for something like that, but I still love her to death. I've been following Chris Mann on facebook and he said he's spoken to her and that she will probably be setting the record straight soon. I really need to hear what she has to say. I'm worried about her, honestly, as this seems so out of character. I'm glad she or no one else was hurt and hope that she learns from this mistake. A very dangerous and irresponsible thing to do. And come on with the cheap shots about the mug shot, guys. You think if you got one taken, yours would be any better? It's wrong what she did, but I don't think this is funny. Fleet 07-08-2009, 02:05 AM You have awesome cars, too. She SHOULD have taken you up on your offer. :D Thanks. Next time she is at the Burbank autograph show, I'll try again! I'll say, "If you ever need a ride home, just call me and I bring the limo to you." Of course, I won't say I don't intend to let her out of the limo! :D :happyface HuntingtonM15 07-08-2009, 02:09 AM And come on with the cheap shots about the mug shot, guys. You think if you got one taken, yours would be any better? It's wrong what she did, but I don't think this is funny. I agree. The comments are ridiculous. After all, she's 60 now, and it IS a mug shot. Helen Mirren is a very attractive woman in her 60's, but if there was a mug shot of her taken while intoxicated, I doubt it would be all that nice! Schmoopie 07-08-2009, 02:13 AM Mug shots aren't intended to be attractive at all, but that is by far the worst picture I've ever seen. In all seriousness, though, John Ritter would be appalled if he knew about this. I never thought she would do something like this either. It's sad how drunk driving is becoming more and more commonplace among stars, but I'm glad they are being treated like anyone else in this situation. Even if some of these people aren't stars of today, they are still well-known and people look up to them. It's a shame, the kind of example they are setting. A lot of these celebs are probably either thinking "I'm a celeb and I can do anything I want", or "I was only really popular back when my show was on, so no one will care what I do now." Major wrong on both accounts. Opal 07-08-2009, 11:46 AM Oh, please. This woman could have taken innocent lives with her foolishness. What then? She deserves the cheap shots. She's 60-years-old, not some 17-year-old who snuck into a frat party and got wasted. Would everyone here be so forgiving if Joyce Dewitt was an average citizen (not a celeb)? catlover79 07-08-2009, 01:39 PM Oh, please. This woman could have taken innocent lives with her foolishness. She's old enough to know better. ohno: shotzette 07-08-2009, 01:52 PM Isn't this the most media face time that she's had since John Ritter's death? Weird how things work out... Opal 07-08-2009, 02:58 PM She deserves cheap shots about her stupidity maybe, but her looks have NOTHING to do with it. It's very petty. I can agree with that. Would everyone here be so forgiving if Joyce Dewitt was an average citizen (not a celeb)? No kidding it was a stupid thing to do. I don't think I could've made more clear my feelings on that. The thing is, I've been so invested in TC since I was a kid to the point where these people feel like family, not celebs I'm giving a free ride to. If a family member had done something like this, I'd knock them on the head and tell them how stupid they are and that they better not make the same mistake again. I'd probably give them hell for it. But I would also forgive them because they're human and as humans people do stupid things. Some worse than others. I mean, I can't say I've heard of her ever doing something like this before. Either way, I'm not going to sit there and take cheap shots at people and think it makes me any better for doing so. If you really thought this was such a terrible thing, you'd be out raising awareness for drunk driving and trying to prevent it instead of sitting on a message board making fun of someone's mug shot. What good is that honestly doing? Opal 07-08-2009, 04:12 PM No kidding it was a stupid thing to do. I don't think I could've made more clear my feelings on that. What good is that honestly doing? Since you don't know my history, you have zero room to make assumptions. Maybe I'm sensitive when it comes to drunk driving because my cousin, Christopher, was killed by a drunk driver in 1992, while I was in the passenger seat. Making fun of a mug shot never killed anyone. janet42 07-08-2009, 04:48 PM Since you don't know my history, you have zero room to make assumptions. Maybe I'm sensitive when it comes to drunk driving because my cousin, Christopher, was killed by a drunk driver in 1992, while I was in the passenger seat. I'm sorry about your cousin. But we shouldn't make of people because they messed up. Hopefully Joyce learned her lesson of not driving while intoxicated. Maybe I'm sensitive when it comes to drunk driving because my cousin, Christopher, was killed by a drunk driver in 1992, while I was in the passenger seat. Making fun of a mug shot never killed anyone. I'm very sorry about your cousin and I agree with you. If all that happens is a few people make fun of Joyce because of her mug shot than she got off lucky. She could have killed someone or killed herself. She's old enough to know better. I'm not hating on her. I'm still a fan but she's not above criticism. Hopefully she's sorry for what she did and she won't do it again. Opal 07-08-2009, 05:54 PM Thank you for the nice comments regarding my cousin. It happened along time ago, but it's sometimes hard to forget -- especially with the scars and the blindness in my left eye to remind me everyday. I deleted my "cheap shot" post at Joyce Dewitt's mug shot. I'm just thankful no one was harmed. McGillicuddy 07-08-2009, 05:55 PM Wow! First our sweet Mary Ann, now Janet Wood. I hope she doesn't do this all the time. Hopefully it will end up being a wake-up call, at any rate I hope for the best for her. Making fun of a mug shot never killed anyone. I'm very sorry to hear that. Honestly, I am. And look, I wasn't making assumptions so much as I am trying to point out that making cheap shots is a petty thing to do because that gets people no where. People make mistakes and unfortunately, sometimes it leads to cases like yours. Thankfully it didn't with her. There are plenty of cases when people just don't think, no matter how old they are. It happens and it's terrible and I hope to God she's learned her lesson. I am by no means defending her actions, but am simply stating that good people make mistakes and while some are worse than others, none of us can say we're completely innocent and joking about it is just pointless, especially when it is such a serious topic. Again, I'm sincerely very sorry for what happened to your cousin and to you, and apologize if I offended you. That's not what I intended. HuntingtonM15 07-08-2009, 08:18 PM I can agree with that. But I don't think anyone made fun of her "normal" appearance..... just her hot mess drunk look. BTW, what part of Michigan are you from? :) Yeah, that's true. I was more annoyed with the comments I saw at another site about her looks that were far more harsh than anything posted here. I'm also very sorry to hear about your cousin. I'm from the metro Detroit area. TripperFan 07-08-2009, 08:38 PM I can agree with that. But I don't think anyone made fun of her "normal" appearance..... just her hot mess drunk look. BTW, what part of Michigan are you from? :) Yah, she looks like she's ready to open up a can of whoopass on the photographer doesn't she?!! Don't piss Janet off and eat the worm on her!! It was shocking to hear of her, but yah, alcoholism can hit anyone - actually when you think of it, seems most of Hollywood / Entertainment Industry have some sort of addiction to something. Pretty sad. Opal 07-08-2009, 08:57 PM I'm from the metro Detroit area. Cool. I currently live in the Grand Rapids area, but have relatives in Detroit. catlover79 07-08-2009, 10:47 PM I'm very sorry about your cousin and I agree with you. Thank goodness Joyce didn't hurt or kill anyone - and let's hope she never does anything like this again!!! Retro4Life 07-08-2009, 11:25 PM One of the hardest things to do when dealing with any kind of addiction or maladaptive behavior is to separate the person from the behavior. That is, you can still love (or at least not hate) the person but hate the behavior. A close family member of mine was an alcoholic, and I can't say I was always successful in separating the two, unfortunately. koalabears 07-09-2009, 08:18 AM Wow! First our sweet Mary Ann, now Janet Wood. I hope she doesn't do this all the time. Hopefully it will end up being a wake-up call, at any rate I hope for the best for her. But Mary Ann was only guilty of weed possession, she didn't risk anybody's lives! At least, Janet didn't have any passangers on board, unlike Carol from Growing Pains! janet42 07-09-2009, 12:18 PM Have they set her Preliminary Court date? USATVFAN 07-09-2009, 02:39 PM Oh No! Not Our Janet!. for some reason I always expected this from Richard or Suzanne but not Joyce. I don't feel sorry because she got arrested, I feel sorry because she is famous and people know who she is, that make it hard when you are famous and get in trouble with the law. But I still have Respect for Joyce and she will have to pay for the consenquences, everyone make mistake, It prove she is a regular person like all of us. McGillicuddy 07-09-2009, 03:18 PM But Mary Ann was only guilty of weed possession, she didn't risk anybody's lives! At least, Janet didn't have any passangers on board, unlike Carol from Growing Pains! In Dawn Wells case, It just goes to show you what media sensationalism can do, I didn't even remember the details of her arrest, I just remember her mug shot, and the media overblowing it. But then it was forgotten about. Hopefully Joyce Dewitt can overcome this in time too. USATVFAN 07-09-2009, 10:33 PM She is is not the Janet we know form Three's Company. James28 01-04-2010, 06:35 PM Based on the look of that mug shot, I think Joyce DeWitt should pop out her eyeballs like Kim Goodman. Ten years ago, I met what looked like Joyce Dewitt at a market somewhere in Mexico City. The first time I saw her, I said: "Joyce Dewitt? So that's where you've been?". She responded to my statement by blowineg a kiss at me and nothing else. And then ten years later she gets arrested for DUI. I would not respect any person whose first name is "Joyce". |
