View Full Version : Allen Iverson interested in the Grizzlies????
TVFactFan 07-03-2009, 05:49 PM WHY?? I heard he went to talk to the Miami Heat today also but I just don't see why he would want to go to Memphis unless he heard he could get a NICE PAY fromgoing there
They probably would offer Allen half of Memphis to play there-LOL
ESPN
Wreckless 07-03-2009, 07:07 PM Now you know his career is DONE if he's really thinking about going there- lol....and if he ultimately signs with Memphis as well.
Good riddance AI

It could also be that he heard that there are a lot of FREAKY girls on Memphis Avenue-LOL
Wreckless 07-03-2009, 07:33 PM Yeah probably lol
You think he'll ever put up 25+ PPG again in his career?
Marvo301 07-03-2009, 08:35 PM Well one things for sure. Iverson would never even consider the Grizzlies if they were still in Vancouver!!

I'm surprised you're ripping him.
This is the guy who revived the Sixers when they were at their lowest point.

He's also the guy who maintains a thug image, who threw his wife out of the house in the nude & never did charity events, or anything outside of the NBA, that wasn't for himself. Yeah I appreciate him doing that, but the other what, 10 some years we were average with him. If we won the championship in 2000, that's another thing, but we didn't. We had some good teams even after that, with Keith Van Horn, and we had Big Dog Glenn Robinson. But Iverson was selfish, and Van Horn only stayed 2 years I think and Big Dog was shot. He was at the end of his career with us. Same with Chris Webber, mostly because of his knees and the injuries he had from it. If AI was a little bit of a team player, in which he wasn't, we could of acquired more good players to supplement him, but how he played the game, he ran everybody out of town so to speak. I like the guy's talent. He is definitely a good player and a grinder, but their's so much more to being just a good player these days. The Mavericks simply keep Jason Kidd for the little things. He's old, but can not only still do it given his age, but can give the ball to 6/7 players and turn them into great players or do little things for his team to win the game night in and night out. I know AI and Kidd are way different players, but it counts for something.
Brad Russ 07-05-2009, 03:50 AM I can understand AI being interested in Miami, and truly believe he can make that team better, but Memphis?? That I just don't get. The only positive that would come out of that, is that his point total would rise dramatically. But that's obviously no reason to go to a team.

You wouldn't think so Brad, but it's AI we're talking about here . Mister "I Want the Ball, no less then 28 a game."

That's a good point. He's definitely got the mind set to shoot first, and pass second. I hope he won't be stupid enough to go to Memphis, but yeah, like you said, with him you just never know.

Iverson is a great player, but is selfish and isn't versatile, like Jerry Stackhouse. Stackhouse went from having 28.0 a game one year in Detroit, and could change his game up to be a 20, 8 assists, 5/6 rebounds guy. Iverson stays the same. You know you'll get a lot of shots, and a lot of layups/shots heading to the rim, and he can steal the ball, plus a few rebounds, but that's it. He used to be a hot commodity, but no more I guess. He is still fairly young though, where he can still play, but nobody wants to give him the opportunity of getting that 28-30 points per game again it seems.
isiahthomas 07-11-2009, 01:53 PM I agree with everything Wreckless said about Iverson. He's always been a selfish player. Now you see that Denver is a better team without him because Chauncey Billups is better than him. I thought Iverson was going to Charlotte? Charlotte was interested in him but since Larry Brown is the coach, i guess he doesn't wanna go there because him and Larry didn't get along when they were in Philly. Why would he wanna go to Memphis? LOL. Speaking of Jerry Stackhouse, he's with Memphis now and i know he doesn't wanna be there hahahahahahahahahahahaha. Detroit doesn't want Iverson anymore? I guess the question should be does Iverson wanna be in Detroit anymore? Joe Dumars should've never gotten rid of Chauncey for him. Joe Dumars doesn't know what he's doing. I saw he recently signed a Cleveland Cavs assistant coach to be the head coach LOL. I've never heard of the guy LOL. He gets rid of Flip Saunders for Michael Curry and now he fires Michael after one season. What is he doing to Detroit? The owner of the Pistons needs to fire Joe.
