Do you like and/or wear flip flops?

I wore them when I was little. I can't stand them now. The thing that goes in between your toes drives me up the wall. So I don't wear flip flops.

I wear flip flops in the summer because they are easy to slip on and go. The little piece between the toes never bothered me. I do not wear them though if I am going to work or church or out to dinner or something. Then I usually wear a nice pair of leather sandals in the summer.

I live in my flip flops from Old Navy. The weather's always good for flip flops here, unless it's raining. They used to bug me in middle school, but now I find them really comfortable. The only negative is that they get dirty easily, so I have to wash them a lot.
For nightime though, I have nicer pairs of sandals that I like to wear, like FactsFan mentioned.

I don't like them. I hate the entire flip flop fad among teenage girls where they wear them year round, everywhere.

I hate the cheap foam ones that everyone wears.. but I do own a nice pair of "stylish" flip flops that I wear pretty often, just for around the house and running basic errands, going to school on warmer days, etc. But I wear nicer sandals for church and other more fancy occasions. :D

I have never cared for flip flops. I remember my mom being me pairs when I was little but I could never stand to wear them. I'm not a big fan of sandals either.

I like them. I just bought some at Payless, a pretty gold pair with little rhinestones. I've got black plain types. My husband was at Payless last month, buying himself a pair of sandals, and he got the cutest flip flops for me, sort of denim styled detailed with white. I was so flattered because he's not the type to do something like that. I was surprised he even knew my shoe size. I think they were 8 bucks, lol.

I hate anything where you can see your toes. I prefer closed toed shoes, even if it's in the summer! I used to wear sandals when I was in elementary school and every so often, the strap between my toes would break and I'd have to walk around like that all day long!

I hate flip flops.. period. People wear those things to work all the time and I think they look tacky and very unprofessional (at work-it's an office, not the beach!). Other places, they are fine, but I still don't like seeing other people's feet!

The closest I have come to wearing anything remotelly like sandals is some beach trekers from Land's End. I didn't think I'd like them at first, but I bought some for Hawaii and I wear them all the time. Usually I wear socks, but these are so "airy" that I haven't worn socks since the end of May. That's a definite first for me!!!

I like funky ones, like these. I used to wear nice ones to the office in the summer, on casual Fridays. Mostly all the women did.

These are almost identical to the gold ones I recently bought.

No, I don't wear flip flops.

That being said, I got a co worker who LOVES flip flops and wears them while working shipment. I'm waiting till she gets told off but it seems she wears them when the manager who is there, doesn't say anything.

Hoping if she gets her review, she will get told about her flip flop wearing.

EDIT: I call her flip flop girl.

:brent    Me neither Charles LOL. I hate flip flops and sandals, I would NEVER ever wear them. I think I wore sandals once down the beach, and that was it, never flip flops. I am a guy. I wear sneakers and shoes lol. I think only girls should wear flip flops and sandals. Guys that wear em look like homos. I said it.

P.S. If you're a guy on here that wears em, I'm not calling you a homo, I just think it's something that is for girls, and strictly. Apologies if I offended you (SOLOMON). Jk jk

I never wore them. Now I have started in the last 4 years because we bought a boat and it's so easy to kick them off and on around the water and getting in the boat.

I wore a new pair this weekend and I have a blister between my toes ..ouch!

I HATE hearing them here at work though!!

I wear them around the house year-round, they are very comfortable to me & they are so cool on a hot day. My husband can't stand to wear them, I've bought him several different styles but he gave them all to our son. My son wears them around the yard, the pool & the lake but nowhere else.

Oh, I hate them. I can't wear them, I have something in my feet called arches and they need support! My sister tore a ligament in her foot in Disneyworld from wearing flip-flops, her doctor made her swear never to wear them again. Pushing her around Disneyworld in a wheel chair in 99 degree weather was not the best way to spend a vacation. Never ever wear flip flops, they do serious damage to your feet.

You can count me in on this. I don't like wearing sandals or flip flops myself. I will always take closed toe shoes over them. Another reason I don't like sandals or flip flops is that they have crummy traction - I was always slipping, tripping and falling in them. I had quite a few scraped and bruised knees before I gave them up for good.

I worked at a real estate agency years ago and a few people wore these for awhile during the summer until one of the agency owners told them that flip flops were way too casual for an office setting.

As a guy, I hate flip flops. Only time I'll consider wearing them is if I'm going rafting, or camping, or doing some outdoorsy thing like that. Not to offend anyone, but I think straight guys look goofy wearing flip flops. Just my opinion though. Personally, I'll just stick with my tennis shoes.

 Just to add to my earlier post, I'm just as happy around the house with a good pair of slippers, or for general use, a well fitting broken in pair of Birkenstocks. A pain to break them in, but once they conform to your feet, they're so comfortable! Yeah, the flip flops do nothing for me; I can't stand the between the toe thing. I always felt like my foot was cramping up just to keep them from falling off.

I hear ya! Nothing like having to grip like a cougar just to walk around the house! ;)

I also used to get a blister from them. I can handle the ones with a loop around the big toe though and find them really comfortable.

  That movie is a riot!! He was absoultely hilarious in that film!!! Hard to believe it was Hank, playing that part!!!

My husband borrowed a pair of flip flops from the hotel pool yesterday and I wore them for about five minutes to walk over to get something. The pavement was really rough and it was really hot. Anyway, it only confirmed my "hatred" for them, because I could hardly keep them on. They kept slipping off my feet, and they were really akward. Granted, they were way too big for me, but I've had that problem with smaller flip flops.

InspectorExstead, those sandals/flip flops are really cute!!!:) I probably wouldn't mind those as much since they have a strap around the back.

They were less than $20 at Target! They're insanely comfortable too. I've been wearing them for about a week, and I haven't had any problems-no blisters, no nothing. I definitely recommend them. Oh, and call me Megan. :)

Once again, with limited commercial interruption, we present TJL's flip flop rant.

Flip flops are not shoes. You can buy them in a supermarket. They usually can be found in the same aisle with the sunscreen, waterguns and other seasonal items. Not shoes.

Yet people think you can wear them anywhere. A few weeks ago I was in New Jersey for jury duty, which involved me sitting in a big room with 75 people doing nothing for six hours.
A young woman sitting near me showed up for jury duty wearing a t-shirt, a pair of those cotton "booty shorts" with Princeton written across the booty, and (wait for it) flip flops.

It shocks me that people actually think this is the proper way to dress for any occasion.

In conclusion, flip flops are not shoes.

Thank you.

;)

Like I said, should only be used as fly swatters!!

They say a good way to limit or end your career (in an office) is to wear flip-flops. I agree, I've worked in executive offices and the younger girls wear them all the time. Nothing worse than hearing all this "snapping" as they're walking around!! And some of them don't bother to touch up the pedicure and it looks like they bite their own toenails!! Sickening!

Sorry about that Megan, I couldn't remember your first name! I would call the shoes you have sandals and not really flip flops. To me, flip flops are those rubbery flimsy things like TJL was talking about. The next time I go to Target, I'll see if I can find some sandals like yours.

I wouldn't be the type of person who would wear flip-flops, even occasionally. Although I have to admit, flip-flops can be a real turn-on for some people, because flop-flops can show off all the tiny ripples on the bottom of one's feet, I think more so than any other sandal.

Yes and No, mostly No .. I'm too sensible with foot support and MOST flip flops are pretty non supportive....One can spend big money and get flip flops with arch supports.....My daughter has spent too much on her flip flops as I see it.... tHE young can be so impressionable.
