Okay I am not sure how old this one is but I have always found it to be a warm episode.
During Christmas of 1944 there were 2-3 American soldiers in Germany that had lost their way. They found shelter at a hospitable home. The mother and a couple children. She invited the Americans to stay for Christmas dinner. Coincidentally some German soldiers came by the same house. They were seeking some shelter as well. The mother invited them to stay for dinner as well but "only if you accept our guests."
They entered and both groups of soldiers were on guard and prepared for a fight. The mother stood in between them and said there would be no fighting in this house, it's Christmas! They were peaceful.
So they all sat for dinner and ate. Prior to the meal they said grace, and the mother prayed for the war to stop. One of the children of the home remembers seeing tears stream down the faces of the soldiers, even the Germans. After dinner both groups of soldiers went on their seperate ways. The Germans even gave the Americans directions!
The bottom line is one of the children of that house remembers that fondly. He wanted to reunite with the American soldiers (even though he was German, lol). He does end up meeting the veteran in a nursing home. A touching story eh? Do you have goosebumps too?
But anyways, what is the name of this segment? Where can I find it on Youtube, or wherever?
