I joined Sitcoms Online in early 2003 and started posting on the FOL board in December of 2005. I've heard over the years that way back in 2000 and 2001,the FOL board was far and away the most popular board here at SO. Many of the people who posted back them no longer post. However, for two or three years there was a major FOL mania going on here. Sadly, I heard that it ended in a lot of fighting and hurt feelings. Still, a part of me wishes I had been here for all that. Not for all the fighting and hurt feelings, of course, but just to see FOL hysteria. Does anyone else think that would have been cool? :)

I would post on this board more often, but I haven't seen FOL in ages, so I really wouldn't have much to say as far as episodes are concerned. But I do wish I had found this board years ago. It took me forever to find a Seinfeld board that was active and fun to post on, and although I don't know much about the happenings on this board prior to July of 2008, I see where you are coming from. Hopefully the FOL board will be more active in the near future. I am really amazed with the amount of FOL fan fiction that is posted here, though!

I was here back then. It was nice to always have new posts, always have twenty some replies to a fanific, and always know someone was going to be around to talk to about the show. It was a busy and happening place! There were a lot of fights back then though (over stupid things it seemed.) I was never involved in any of them, but I do remember people getting mad and fighting and then making up new user names and continuing the fight as someone else. There was a lot of conflict over the reunion movie, a group of people who wanted Jo to be killed off and a group that didn't. (Okay...I did get involved in that little argument and remember being told that I must have been obsessed with the show if I was worried about something as stupid as that. ;)) The funniest thing was back then over half of SO had names involving Jo, Nancy, Blair or Lisa. There were a few Tooties too. Natalie wasn't as popular though.

I'm glad I was here back then. It was a crazy place, but always fun. If FOL was on or they would release more DVDs, I think this board would get more action again. For now I guess we'll just have to be content with an occasional post here and there.

not to bring up the fact that the whole show needs to be released on dvd, but people would probably post more if the show was more accessible on tv (btw, i have on demand and still cant watch tube time shows, guess i have the wrong package) or even if more seasons were available to watch online. they have everything on hulu now but where are the rest of the seasons of FOL?!?! i mean, talking about season 1-3 gets stale after a while.

plus speaking of the 2001, 2002, 2003 era nancy was on tv back then. so that re-generated a bit of interest in the show. maybe if someone could get her back on tv full time the board will revive again lol :)

That's a VERY good point. Nancy McKeon has a lot of fans and if she was back on TV they would probably come here to talk about her. (I don't mean her two episode stint on Sonny With a Chance ;))

Unfortunately I just don't see any way to really revive this board because there is no way to watch the show anymore (I don't have Comcast in my area for OnDemand.) If I didn't have my own recordings I would be so sick of season 1-3 I wouldn't even want to talk about them. Personally I think Sony has killed this show. :( And unless someone gets the rights to it out of their greedy little hands, there will be no reviving it.

I was once looking at the very first page of Chit Chat and it was all FOL fans. There were people with usernames like Nancy McKeon Forever, Jo and Blair Rock, Nancy's Number Fan. A lot of Nancy/Jo usernames. Quite a few Blair ones too.

I first joined SO in 2002 under a different username then forgot the name or password something and made this one, heck I dont even remember what the old one was but i do remember when this board was extremely active back when FOL was still on N@N and then Hallmark. Good times good times.. abnd then last year I posted quite a bit over here then there got to be a lot of drama on the board and in my own life so I gave SO up completely. But I really do miss how active it use to be but it seems like the more people are here the more drama there is and I dont wanna deal with that. I have enough drama as is by being 19.
