TV Land Airs Charlies's Angels and Chasing Farrah on Saturday, June 27 from 7-10PM:

TV LAND CELEBRATES THE LIFE OF HOLLYWOOD ACTRESS AND

POP ICON FARRAH FAWCETT

New York, NY, June 25, 2009 – TV Land will honor the memory of Hollywood actress and pop culture icon Farrah Fawcett with a tribute presentation with the first two episodes of the 2005 TV Land original series, “Chasing Farrah,” which chronicled her daily life as one of the most recognized stars in the history of celebrity, on Saturday, June 27 from 9pm – 10pm ET/PT. TV Land will also present two “Charlie’s Angels” episodes on Saturday, June 27 from 7pm -9pm ET/PT leading up to the airing of the first two episodes of the 2005 TV Land original series, “Chasing Farrah” from 9-10pm.
Fawcett passed away in Santa Monica, California this morning from cancer at the age of 62. The series gave viewers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the actress and her travels, both in and out of the spotlight.

“Farrah Fawcett was much more than a Hollywood icon, but a friend and colleague,” explains Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land. “We are honored to have known her and worked with her and will remember her fondly. Our hearts go out to Farrah’s entire family.”

The tribute presentation of “Chasing Farrah” celebrates Farrah as she went to the U.S. Open in New York, relaxed with her close friend Alana Stewart and shared dinner with Ryan O’Neal – the love of her life – at his beach house.

TVLand.com will feature a Memorial Spot – which will also run on-air – and Obituary.

Born on February 2, 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas Farrah Fawcett always stole the spotlight with her beauty and spirit. While attending the University of Texas, she caught the eye of a celebrity publicist who convinced her to pursue her dream of acting in Los Angeles. She left Texas for the City of Angels and the rest is history. Her television career gained steam throughout the 1960s when she appeared on well-known shows such as “I Dream of Jeannie,” “The Flying Nun” and “The Partridge Family” but it was the role of private eye “Jill Monroe” in the TV series, “Charlie’s Angels” that garnered her world-wide fame and iconic status. Her growing popularity could not be denied when, during the first season, she posed in a red bathing suit for a poster that to this day has sold over 12 million copies worldwide. Fawcett left “Charlie’s Angels” after just one season but continued a successful acting career including Emmy-nominated performances in “The Burning Bed,” “Small Sacrifices,” “The Guardian” and “Extremities” and in the acclaimed film, “The Apostle.”

Kinda weird that they're doing the same Angels episodes that WGN will do, only an hour earlier. Would have been cool if they'd aired the pilot movie or one of Farrah's guest appearances from the third season. I love the one where Jill helps Sabrina and Kelly search for a kidnapped Kris.

You can't miss The Burning Bed, I swear she was at her best in that. I've seen it a few times. You actually find yourself cheering for her at one point in it.

I had heard that Ryan beat her, but apparently no, not at all. They got into a lot of fights, but not physical. It was that creep, Orr boyfriend she had at one point when she and Ryan had broken up for a bit.

I watched the special again tonight and recorded it (the one she produced). It's sooo tragic, yet uplifting earlier on. I haven't been this bummed out this week since we lost Princess Diana. :(

I did see a few clips of The Burning Bed in one of last night's specials. Paul Le Mat (who played her husband) and the director of the movie both were featured. Both men talked about what a joy Farrah was and how much they loved working with her. :D

From what I heard on one special tonight (can't remember exactly which one - they're becoming a blur, between her and MJ) she hated those comeback eps she had to do. It was part of the settlement of that lawsuit and blacklisting against her. Maybe because of that, they want to stick with just the originals.

You're right - according to the book Charlie's Angels Casebook, Farrah didn't want to do those appearances and only did it out of obligation (and to avoid litigation from Spelling/Goldberg Productions). In the words of Cheryl Ladd, Farrah was "always professional, never rude, and got the job done".

Aw, I didn't know that. Those were some good episodes, still, though. It was nice to have all four of them together.
