Johnny Carson 'Tonight Show' sidekick Ed McMahon, dies at 86 Story, here (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090623/ap_on_en_tv/us_obit_mcmahon_7). Yahoo! News/AP-June 23, 2009 I'm gonna miss Ed's hearty laughs and guffaws on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. He should have recorded those laughs to be heard on future TV programs. For Johnny and Ed, Johnny Carson's Tonight Show is the one I'll always remember since I was born 6 months after it premiered and Johnny ended that great run in 1992 when I was 29. Ed was great in whatever he did for the broadcasting industry. :) :( Schmoopie 06-24-2009, 02:01 AM I was sad to hear of his passing, but it makes it even moreso with all the problems he had toward the end. Hopefully he and Johnny are together again, walking down memory lane. Thanks for the article, bossradio93! Very interesting. I had no idea that he had bone cancer as well. Such a sad loss and he'll be missed.
