A common enough discussion among those who saw Borat in 2006 was regarding just how much of Sacha Baron Cohen's guerrilla mayhem was actually staged. Now, between Bruno's trailer and Cohen's Eminem-assisted publicity stunt last month at the MTV Movie Awards, people are already trying to determine how much of this stuff is scripted.

After all, both films have been credited to multiple screenwriters, one of whom was EuroTrip director (and former Seinfeld writer) Jeff Schaffer. He explained to his hometown Tribune Chronicle how the more recent shenanigans were engineered (well, to an extent). ''Do you know how much planning and work went into this? We want credit for this.''

After helping re-develop Borat's climax, he was brought on board from day one to collaborate on establishing a narrative groundwork for Bruno's flamboyant fashion reporter persona to follow: ''There's a script that looks like a movie script with some lines and some basic structure.
