Has anyone here heard the John Titor story? I've known about it for several years and always thought it was interesting (although I don't believe Titor was what he claimed he was.)

John Titor was the name of an individual who posted on several forums in 2000 and 2001, claiming to be a time traveller from 2036. I do believe that time travel could one day be possible, I don't believe that the person calling himself John Titor was really a time traveller, mainly because several of his predictions haven't come to pass.

He started out making posts at the Time Travel Institute, a website which I believe still exists, and posted on other forums as well. I used to be a member of a forum called TTF (the Time Travel Forum) which was devoted to the discussion of time travel and whether this could possibly be accomplished. Several people there had communicated online with the person known as John Titor. Opinion was divided on whether he was what he said he was. Many were sceptical but there were some who were open to the possiblity that he was a time traveller. The website changed a lot over the years and I think the original forum is gone now. Some of the former members post on the forums on a website called Conspiracy Cafe.

There's more information on Wikipedia and a website about the John Titor story, www.johntitor.com

P.S. - Here is a link to the original posts made by John Titor on the Time Travel Institute forums.

Although the earliest date here is January 2001, he began posting under the name Timetravel_0 in November 2000. In late March 2001 he announced that he was leaving this time period for his own time and nothing has been heard from him since.

I don't believe in that stuff at all.

I believe in the possibility of time travel. I also believe that people can travel to different time periods through astral projection (consciously leaving one's physical body.)

I guess I have an open mind when it comes to things like this. It was an interesting read, though I have trouble believing Titor was who he said he was. Of course, if it was true, if he really was a man from tomorrow, we'll probably never know. I found it intriguing he didn't seem to really care whether people believed his story or not. Anyway, interesting read. Thanks for posting!
