Franny and the Professor was the episode of The Nanny in which Fran Fine is a contestant on Jeopardy!. She was considered to be "in the hole" (that's when you fall below $0) in the Jeopardy Round, but by the end of the Double Jeopardy! round, she had a score of $100. At Final Jeopardy, her response was "What is Alexandria?" and the answer was "This city was incorporated into the Roman Empire in 30 B.C. after the suicide of Cleopatra". Fran's wager was $100 and that took her up to $200, making her the new Jeopardy! champion (The other contestants had scores of $0 and $101). Maxwell told Fran that she didn't have to be the returning champion. If she had been the returning champion, she would have lost in her very next game.
