They always had a great relationship & marriage, and always worked things out. I'd really like to think if they weren't a fictional couple in sitcoms land, they really could make it and grind it out through troubles and problems that may occur in relationships, in the real world. Nowadays with the divorce rate being so high and unbelievable (over 50%), you have a lot of people in relationships that don't (want to) make sacrifices for one another, never or hardly want to work it out and comprise anything- to the extent of whatever the problem truly may be and are simply arrogant and want things their own way. With these 2, they were "old fashioned" as they would so kindly put it, and would settle situations financially to make it all work out & seemingly would never fight- unlike other Sitcom couples & compared to marriages that don't work from the geco generally speaking. I like their ways. How do you look at their marriage/relationship and could it work??

Actually I've just started really watching this show and it's mainly for them!

They and their marriage VERY much reminds me of my parents marriage (who would have been around the same age as Kitty and Red in the same era). They got suckered into a "swap" party by accident once, had the fondues, both parents liked a drink or two. They had a great marriage (up until my father's drinking took over). They also were the parents who didn't mind the neighbourhood kids dropping in at all hours of the day or helping take one in when they had a big issue at home or something (like Hyde).

I really like the characters and I think they probably drew heavily on their parents' marriages for their roles.

Red and Kitty were pretty cool people. Sure Red was a bit mean to Kitty but it was funny.

Kitty looked almost 10-20 years older then Red...but they were a great TV couple
