I open this topic because I want answers, because Chachi Arcola like so little?

I see that it is often one of the least loved but I still prefer to Cunningham and gentlemen Pots and Ralph.

sorry but I do not understand why so little like Chachi(apart from the girls).

to me is beautiful and I like to do when paired with Joanie.

I really liked Chachi. Maybe since the Fonz was so established by the time Chachi came along, it was hard for people to relate to someone younger. I'm just speculating though. My favorite was Potsie, even though they made him out to act kind of dumb. He was still pretty cute!
BTW, I used to have Scott Baio's album years ago! I thought he was SOOO cute, so I bought the album without even having listened to it!

Postie was always my favorite too. I had such a huge crush on him! I did like Chachi too though. Scott Baio was pretty good looking back then and Chachi was a fun character. The Fonz was okay, but I never really understood all the hoopla over him.

1. Scott Baio's portrayal of Chachi Arcola garnered various accolades from the Youth In Film Awards.

As you can see from virtually all of my posted messages here, I am not looking to fight or quarrel with anybody.
I just want to provide helpful trivia or information about our favorite TV show "Happy Days" wherever I can.

"So CHACHI saved 'Happy Days'.
However, you may ask, why is this so important?

Now CHACHI wasn't the first, but he is definitely the most famous of
the 'introduce a new kid in the show to give it a fresh feel and boost ratings' concept.

The first was probably Little Ricky on 'I Love Lucy'.
But then, every classic sitcom plot originated off from 'I Love Lucy'.

The addition of a new kid to a show near the end of a series is a TV tradition.
Some of the most successful were Tabitha on 'Bewitched', Joey (Lawrence) on 'Gimme A Break',
Stephanie on 'All In The Family' and, more recently, Dawn on 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer'.

However, there have been a number of disasters.
How can we forget the mental wound that is the Brady Bunch's cousin Oliver?
Or does anyone remember the Partridge Family's cute (and I use that term loosely) next door neighbor Ricky Segall?
Or how about when Tony and Angela adopted that little annoying rug rat on 'Who's The Boss?'?
Or when Mr. Drummond got remarried on 'Different Strokes' and Arnold had a new kid brother,
Sam, who was a white kid with red hair from Texas. (Talk about racial tensions!)

Or even worse was when Kirk Cameron's family took in Leonardo DiCaprio on the final season of 'Growing Pains'.
(It wasn't enough that the Seavers added a new kid in an attempt to keep up with Michael J. Fox and the Keatons on 'Family Ties'.)
'The Cosby Show' seemed to be adding new kids all the time. After youngest daughter Rudy wasn't cute anymore,
they had to introduce grandkids, stepkids and neighborhood kids to the point that the Huckstable house looked like a YMCA day camp.
Even cartoons got into the act - the first being the birth of Pebbles Flintstone followed by Bam Bam.
Nearly every show you can name, from 'Little House On The Prairie' to 'Roseanne' did it at least once.

However, it was CHACHI who set the standard. If anything, CHACHI gave it a name.
If a new kid is added to a sitcom, that becomes the show's 'CHACHI' - get it?
Thus, CHACHI is no longer a fictitious character as much as a concept and a term.
The goal for these sitcom add-ons is to be like CHACHI.
Their presence on a show is to save the ratings so that
the series can run another couple of seasons.
It's a lot of pressure to put on a child actor or actress.
Perhaps that is the reason why so many of them go bad.

These kids did not have the power of CHACHI.
Never underestimate the importance of CHACHI on our cultural landscape.
As long as there is television, the legacy and standard that CHACHI represents will exist for some poor kid to live up to."

Scott Baio's everlasting television legacy as Chachi Arcola on "Happy Days"
has continued until the present day and still greatly influences
more recent juvenile family sitcom characters like
bratty ultra-schemer Rico (Moises Arias) on "Hannah Montana"
and wicked royal usurper Lanny (Ryan Ochoa) on "A Pair of Kings"
as well as handsome girl-crazy boy toys such as
empty-headed Michael Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) on "That 70s Show",
smooth charmer Drake Parker (Drake Bell) on "Drake and Josh",
and vain heartthrob James Diamond (James Maslow) on "Big Time Rush".

James even found himself comically stalked and kidnapped by
his own Chachi-like, mini-doppelganger in a very funny BTR episode.
And strangely enough, Josh Peck who played Drake Bell's brother on their show
had an eerily similar hairstyle as that of Erin Moran from "Joanie Loves Chachi".

Current young American star Zac Efron also owes much to
the pioneering movie and television works of Scott Baio.
His own character of Troy Bolton in the widely popular
"High School Musical" TV film trilogy is essentially
a modernized, "Disneyesque" reinvention of
the original Chachi Arcola figure on "Happy Days".
