The "spirits" of the old Bewitched television show work their own magic in the 2005 film, Bewitched, with Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell. This film's rendition ensures that the couple ends up in a happy union of witch to mortal like on the original series. The home in which Isabel and Jack finally settle in together is numbered "1164" as so to the original TV series (at 1164 Morning Glory Circle).

Elizabeth Montgomery and Christina Applegate have more than just being actresses in common. They both were victims of cancer. Montgomery was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in the spring of 1995. She had ignored the flu-like symptoms during the filming of Deadline for Murder: From the Files of Edna Buchanan and acted too late.

Unwilling to die in a hospital, and with no hope of recovery, Montgomery elected to return to her Beverly Hills home. She died there, in the company of her children and husband, on May 18, 1995, eight weeks after her diagnosis. Montgomery was 62 years old. ~ As far as Christina Applegate, thank goodness she was diagnosed and treated in time.

I was just shaking and - then also immediately, I had to go into... 'take-care-of-business-mode'" which included a change to a more healthy diet."- Christina Applegate

On August 3, 2008, People Magazine reported that Applegate had been diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Sixteen days later it was announced that Christina Applegate was cancer free after a double mastectomy, even though cancer was found in only one breast. She has an inherited genetic fault, which very often causes breast cancer in those with said fault. Her mother is a breast cancer survivor.

Applegate said after she first was diagnosed, treated and had reconstructive surgery,

It’s business as usual".

In Everything Is Going to Be Just Fine, unlike the Bewitched film, Christina Applegate's character will be that of the real actress, woman, Elizabeth Montgomery. It will be about the last part of her life, and how her death affected another.

The film's premise is that of a man who believed he had everything he ever dreamed of, until his friend and colleague, actress Elizabeth Montgomery, passed away. With her death he finds himself on a reluctant journey of self-discovery.

Following her diagnosis with breast cancer, Applegate appeared on a television special entitled Stand Up to Cancer designed to raise funds for breast cancer research.

Most recently, Applegate announced her plans to return as the Ambassador for Lee National Denim Day. A portion of proceeds from Denim Day in 2009 will benefit her own personal effort, Right Action for Women, which hopes to provide aid to those individuals who are at increased risk for breast cancer and do not have insurance or the financial flexibility to cover the high costs associated with breast screenings.

If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.” - Christina Applegate

This sounds very interesting. Is Liz's family going to be involved in any way?

I can't think of any other actress who would be a better choice to play Elizabeth Montgomery than Christina Applegate. She will do an incredible job!

This actually sounds interesting but it focuses on the last part of Liz's life. I dont know if I can watch my Liz suffer.

Yeah, that would be difficult to see. In real life, Liz died just 4 days after my grandma (also from cancer). That just makes it harder. :(

We can only hope by Liz's story being told some lives will be saved because people who see this will get to the doctors office and not ignore their symptoms like Liz did.

Exactly. From what I read, she was suffering symptoms as early as 1993 while filming The Black Widow Murders. A movie like this can really help educate the public and keep the memory of a fantastic actress alive. I wish Christina Applegate nothing but the best in this movie!!

I'd like to see this one, if it's a hit maybe they'll think of doing another Bewitched with her in the Samantha role. If they get the right person to play Darrin this time it could be a hit.
