Hi all, I was wondering what show people liked Mary on more. The Dick van Dyke Show or The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She was graet on both. I can't decide my self but I like how she use to dance on DVD, I don't think she danced on MTM. But on MTM she was on her own and made it after all.

I too liked her on both shows, but I guess I like her just a bit better on MTM.

She was definitely better on DVDS. On TMTMS she was the straight person who allowed the other people around her to be funny. This didn't allow her to fully express her own comic talents. On DVDS on the other hand she was able to paint with the whole pallette so to speak. And wow what a picture!

On a prior thread, I voted for TMTMS over TDVDS, but it was by a hair and it wasn't easy to choose.

So while I understand and appreciate your asking this question about mary's roles, I'm going to respectfully pass.

I honestly don't think one can say she was better on one than the other because she truly was brilliant in both! And picking one makes me feel like I'm going against the other.
