NEW YORK — Actor Stephen Baldwin's foreclosed home in the suburbs north of New York City will be publicly auctioned.

Baldwin paid $515,000 for the 1.4-acre home in Rockland County in 1997. In 2006, he tried unsuccessfully to sell it.

County filings show Baldwin and his wife Kennya defaulted on more than $824,000 in payments to mortgage holder Bankers Trust Co.

The auction is set for June 24.

A representative for Baldwin couldn't be reached for comment.

The actor has starred in movies such as "Bio-Dome" and "The Usual Suspects." Recently, he's appeared on reality television shows "The Celebrity Apprentice" and "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!"

NOOO! I feel bad for him. I wish him well. That is terrible. I wonder if his brothers could have helped him?

I love all the sympathy he's getting on the Huffington Post.

It just never ceases to amaze me how people HAVE to demonize anyone who thinks differently than they do politically. I'm sure that somewhere Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neil are weeping with all this sickening partisanship...

I feel terrible for Stephen, his wife and kids. I'm sure his brothers could've helped him out, but seeing as they are on opposite ends of the spectrum politically as well as spiritually...:(

His brothers are atheists?

Stephen is a conservative Republican who supported GWB, not to mention a born-again Christian. I have no idea if the other brothers are complete atheists but I doubt they're Christians. Plus, we all know what Alec's political views are and they are completely different from Stephen's.

I'm not a Baldwin fan at all, so I don't really feel any sympathy for any of them. Sorry if that sounds harsh...
