View Full Version : Season 1 Cover Art Kasey 06-06-2009, 03:18 PM I am surprised this has not been posted yet. It looks nice and I wish it looked a little better but am not complaining since we are lucky to have this release. MickeyMac 06-06-2009, 03:25 PM ^ nice bliss 06-08-2009, 12:31 AM It looks like a pic from Season 2. Glad the DVD is FINALLY being released but hopefully we'll have different pics for all three seasons and not the same pic but different colored background (ex. Punky Brewster) catlover79 06-08-2009, 08:08 AM  :D MickeyMac 06-08-2009, 01:26 PM As much as am thrilled about some of these old shows finally seeing the light of day on DVD, the one drawback is I so lack the funds to go out and buy all of these shows. :( :( :( I need to find a way (legal that is) to get rich. catlover79 06-08-2009, 01:29 PM It's just great that more and more of these older shows are getting released. They deserve to be. :D Scoobiedoo30 06-08-2009, 01:50 PM Nice. randyrandy 06-08-2009, 11:40 PM OK, now that we've seen the DVD box I anxiously await more details to come out. :) Let's hope that they put this set together with as much care that any of us fans would. I remember reading a review for the Laserdisc release that said it seemed like it was put together with little affection for the show itself. Make no mistake, I'm glad that it's finally getting released on DVD, but if they are going to do it they'd better do it right! Kasey 06-10-2009, 11:48 AM I am surprised to hear that about the poor review. I bought the laserdisc in 1996. This was before eBay and I had a local record store special order it for me. I had forgotten all about it, because it took 6 months to arrive! Anyhow, the laserdisc had original sponsor openings and cast commercials. What more can they ask for? It was made a full decade BEFORE DVD's arrived. Robert 13 06-10-2009, 11:58 AM I don't know what gripe anyone could have with the laserdisc. I bought it when it was released and the quality is impeccable. The inclusion of extras was excellent considering, as Kasey stated, that dvds had not been produced yet. Trust me, the laserdisc has wonderfully remastered episodes. I only hope the dvd set stands up to the laserdisc collection. :) randyrandy 06-10-2009, 04:06 PM Here is the link to a scan of the review. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Patty_Duke_Photo_Group/photos/album/1017726610/pic/1174506075/view (I doubt that the image is viewable unless you are a member of the group. :) ) novarrofan 07-31-2009, 08:31 PM "wish it looked a little better" Huh? That DVD cover art is beautiful and you couldn't ask for nicer DVD cover art on the first season collection. People will always complain about something!! It's wonderful that the series has finally started to get a proper DVD release, enjoy it. MickeyMac 09-24-2009, 05:30 PM I so want this. bliss 09-24-2009, 10:25 PM *drools* I wonder if the DVD themselves are plain or do they have a picture of Patty or Cathy. Ronny G 09-24-2009, 11:39 PM *drools* I wonder if the DVD themselves are plain or do they have a picture of Patty or Cathy. The discs have a picture of Patty and Cathy. It is the same picture they used on the cover. They use the same picture on all 6 discs, except they change the color of the background. The booklet is really nice. It contains an episode guide, synopsis, credits, trivia, and has lots of publicity photos. randyrandy 09-25-2009, 12:05 AM The discs have a picture of Patty and Cathy. This keeps getting better and better. :D bliss 09-25-2009, 12:17 AM The discs have a picture of Patty and Cathy. It is the same picture they used on the cover. I should have some scans of the DVD set on my Patty Duke group either later tonight or tomorrow. :) Randy Patty Duke Photo Group http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/Patty_Duke_Photo_Group/ bliss 09-28-2009, 10:11 PM I should have some scans of the DVD set on my Patty Duke group either later tonight or tomorrow. :) Randy Patty Duke Photo Group http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/Patty_Duke_Photo_Group/ Good! randyrandy 09-29-2009, 01:08 PM I should have some scans of the DVD set on my Patty Duke group either later tonight or tomorrow. :) Randy Patty Duke Photo Group http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/Patty_Duke_Photo_Group/ Here are the scans. :) http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Patty_Duke_Photo_Group/photos/album/596979030/pic/list (You have to join the group in order to see the scans. I would make them viewable to everyone but the settings don't allow it.) Randy Patty Duke Photo Group http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/Patty_Duke_Photo_Group/ OH Nuts! 09-30-2009, 01:42 PM It's just great that more and more of these older shows are getting released. They deserve to be. :D Amen to that and to SHOUT!, which imho, has been the lead runner in releasing them. I now have 3 from the top of my wish list bec. of them (Room 222, The Paper Chase, and now Patty). Now if someone releases Eight Is Enough I'll be in TV Nostalgia heaven & won't have to figure out how to transfer my clinky clunky VHS's to DVD (I am SOOOO SLOW in this area) And given SHOUT!'s maginificent track record I wouldn't be surprised to hear something abt EIE. Madame X 10-17-2009, 07:08 PM I thought it was weird that they made Patty's eyes brown on the booklet. |
