View Full Version : Weekend Chat Janice 06-04-2009, 09:00 PM Welcome to the Weekend! catlover79 06-04-2009, 09:03 PM Saturday is my nephew's 3rd birthday party. :D Sunday, church. Brad Russ 06-04-2009, 09:32 PM I don't yet have any plans for Saturday or Sunday, but tomorrow I will be spending the night at the Super 8 motel down the street from my house. I made the booking a couple nights ago. There's just so much going on in my house these days, from my roomates new boyfriend, to people coming in and out day and night, and just to all the noise and chaos that goes on here on a daily basis. I just need a day and night to myself, to gather my thoughts, and be at peace. I just plan on enjoying the quiet, catching up on some reading, relaxing in the queen sized bed, and watching the premium channels that they have. Should be fun!! :D MickeyMac 06-04-2009, 09:37 PM Friday I will probably hang out. The rest of the weekend I will try to get some cleaning, and some laundry done, and I also need to catch up on some of my homework. Scoobiedoo30 06-04-2009, 09:55 PM Saturday Hanging out with Friends Sunday watching Sports. Brad Russ 06-04-2009, 10:10 PM Saturday Hanging out with Friends Sunday watching Sports. Hey, thanks for mentioning watching sports. You reminded me that the Lakers/Magic game is on. If not for your post, I would have missed the whole game, so thank you!! :) Anyway, I hope you, and everyone else has a great weekend!!! Waterston_Fan 06-04-2009, 10:17 PM Working tomorrow and Saturday for three hours each then maybe watching some playoff games and fan fiction. LuLu Rogers 06-05-2009, 12:02 AM I work 5pm-9pm tomorrow, 4pm-9pm Saturday and 5pm-9pm on Sunday. I also have a Sociology test Monday that I have to study for. Other than that, just chillaxin  Nighthawk76 06-05-2009, 12:15 AM I work 5pm-9pm tomorrow, 4pm-9pm Saturday and 5pm-9pm on Sunday. I also have a Sociology test Monday that I have to study for. Other than that, just chillaxin  Good luck with the Sociology test, Lauren. I took Sociology 101 during the spring '96 semester (think about it, you were only nine years old then  ) and really enjoyed it. I only recieved a C though. I think much of that had to do with it being my first college semster and I really didn't know what it was all about yet. I'm sure you will do much better in the class than I did.:) ZeldaGilroy 06-05-2009, 12:15 AM I don't yet have any plans for Saturday or Sunday, but tomorrow I will be spending the night at the Super 8 motel down the street from my house. I totally need to plan a little weekend trip just for myself to get away from the chaos that is my life and enjoy some "me" time. Thanks for the idea. I will be doing this VERY soon! :) I hope you enjoy yourself this weekend! InspectorExstead 06-05-2009, 01:24 AM I'm very excited for this weekend! Tomorrow night I will be going on a date, that I'm looking very forward to. Saturday I'll probably do some working out and shopping, and then going out to dinner and a bar with friends I haven't seen in a while. Sunday is going to be church and watching the Lakers play Orlando (and hopefully winning, like they did tonight). Hope everyone has a good weekend! :D InspectorExstead 06-05-2009, 01:25 AM I work 5pm-9pm tomorrow, 4pm-9pm Saturday and 5pm-9pm on Sunday. I also have a Sociology test Monday that I have to study for. Other than that, just chillaxin  Good luck on the Sociology test! I took a couple of Sociology classes for general ed requirements, and I enjoyed them a lot. littlebelle 06-05-2009, 02:26 AM Leaving for Spokane tomorrow for my cousin's graduation and staying there for the weekend. Hopefully going over to Idaho to check out Silverwood =). LuLu Rogers 06-05-2009, 02:27 AM I really enjoy the class so far, so hopefully I'll make an A and get my GPA back up so I can get a student loan this fall. Cross your fingers! :) HuntingtonM15 06-05-2009, 03:03 AM Good luck with the Sociology test, Lauren. I took Sociology 101 during the spring '96 semester (think about it, you were only nine years old then  ) and really enjoyed it. I only recieved a C though. I think much of that had to do with it being my first college semster and I really didn't know what it was all about yet. I'm sure you will do much better in the class than I did.:) I also got a C in Sociology. I completely hated the class, but that was because of the professor. All she did was relate every single topic to her life in some way, and it was just brutal. I ended up switching majors after that semester so I didn't even need the class in the long run. All it did was waste my time and hurt my GPA. At least having a bad professor like that makes me appreciate the good ones even more. TVQuack 06-05-2009, 03:39 AM My "weekend" doesn't start until Sunday at 1pm....then I don't have to be back to work until Wednesday morning. Gonna hang out with a girl I used to kinda date back after I graduated high school. Should be fun....she was always a great woman....we just never had good timing to date. OH Nuts! 06-05-2009, 07:44 AM I also got a C in Sociology. I completely hated the class, but that was because of the professor. All it did was waste my time and hurt my GPA. At least having a bad professor like that makes me appreciate the good ones even more. I really empathize with you. There is nothing worse than a horrible professor. I remember one I had. He taught a Statistics course. He was a brilliant man, with many honors, but you could tell he hated teaching. He was totally disorganized, would begain a long proof and 15 minutes into it realized he made a mistake and erase it (although it was clear he really knew the material.) We had a textbook but HE NEVER followed it. It was a total nightmare. Professors like him, who hate to teach and are BAD at it, should just be left alone to do research work or be with super bright grad students. And let the rest of us, who are not so gifted, get someone who halfway cares abt their charges learning something. browneyes106 06-05-2009, 10:00 AM I don't have anything planned this weekend. I think I will stay home this weekend and relax. I might take my nephew to see Up in the theaters. Scoobiedoo30 06-05-2009, 12:00 PM I hope that everyone has an awsome weekend MrCleveland 06-05-2009, 12:35 PM I'm going to a prayer retreat...and I'll need all the prayers that I can get.:( Nighthawk76 06-05-2009, 01:27 PM I also got a C in Sociology. At least having a bad professor like that makes me appreciate the good ones even more. The professor I had for Sociology actually had a drug habit and he missed quite a few days of class. The class met every Tuesday and Thursday and he woud miss a class at least once every other week. And let the rest of us, who are not so gifted, get someone who halfway cares abt their charges learning something. That guy reminds me of a Calc professor I had. He was way too smart for his own good. He constantly skipped steps without explaining them. He had also written a number of different text books throughout his career, so he would teach out of the books he wrote instead of the one that we had to buy. It was really confusing and annoying. He also never came off as being friendly. HuntingtonM15 06-05-2009, 02:42 PM The professor I had for Sociology actually had a drug habit and he missed quite a few days of class. The class met every Tuesday and Thursday and he woud miss a class at least once every other week. Wow, that would get annoying, too. Especially if it wasn't announced in advance that he would be missing class. steevo 06-05-2009, 10:50 PM Going to church on Sunday. Other than that, nothing really exciting. OH Nuts! 06-06-2009, 01:19 AM I think I'm going to do a lot of R&R tomorrow (well actually its today) Saturday. Sunday I have 2 work events, but they'll be fun so it won't really seem like work - maybe like 15% work. But they are going to last the entire day til 6 or so. Monday I have off & I may go to Brooklyn for the day. TVQuack 06-06-2009, 04:30 AM Going to Dad's for lunch today with my 3 siblings.....we really have to get him moving on with his life. His mother passed away last fall and he hasn't done much since then.....he's got arthritis among other problems(smoking, recovering alcoholic).....and he doesn't have a job....it's just real depressing and we need to get him to get off his butt and do something! PZelda 06-06-2009, 09:09 AM My reply is always the same in these threads now - work. My days off are typically Tuesdays and Wednesdays now. So yeah. Work... That's about it. MrCleveland 06-06-2009, 09:05 PM Good luck to you! :) It was actually nice. I made a craft...but I lost it. :( I hope someone picks it up, if not...my mom gave me hers for me to have. Actually, Father's Day is 1 week from today on the 14th, isn't it? Theda Bara 06-07-2009, 04:28 PM Friday: I went out dancing and saw a few friends whom I have not seen in a while. Saturday: I went on a date; we went out to dinner to this nice restaurant in my neck of the woods; then we went out dancing after wards. It was nice, hopefully, I will see him again:) Sunday: A friend of mine are going to La Jolla to take some pictures, then after wards I am going to see a friend of mine perform. qwerty 06-08-2009, 12:11 AM Actually, Father's Day is 1 week from today on the 14th, isn't it? Nope. It is on Sunday June 21. LuLu Rogers 06-08-2009, 12:16 AM Nope. It is on Sunday June 21. My bad  |
