I have noticed that SitcomsOnline.com, especially the boards, are down multiple times a day. I get an error message sometimes but mostly it's just offline. Slow a lot.

What's up?

Every night, around the same time (11:30-midnight) I can't get onto the site. A message keeps appearing that says the site is "broken" and it won't allow me on. So, I just shut it off, and when I come back on the next day it's all working again. It's kind of getting annoying, though.

it's also happened to me throughout the day on some occasions, and I can't explain why.

Earlier today I got a message there was a database error. So I shut off the computer and did other things for a while. I came back later and now it is working fine.

I've had the same problems the last few days. GRRR...

There have been a few problems the last few days with a very high server load. When the server has to be rebooted, it's going to be offline for 3-4 minutes (sometimes more). We're working on addressing the issues to prevent any lenghty downtime. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the info, TJ. I've had that problem with the site too, but if I get the error message, I just go on to something else and come back to the site later.

It is hard to believe that so many talented people are speaking and writing incorrect English and even correct those of us who speak it correctly.

by my husband and me". If you take out the word husband, you are left with "written by I," which you see is incorrect.

Other than that, i'm on Helium too, a great spot for airing your views. Will look for you (and him, not he, your husband) on there:)

Please read this forum's rules. This isn't the place to correct people for spelling, grammar, etc.. We have many members with learning disabilities and it's an open site to youngsters. I find it odd that you would sign up just to correct posters. If you are just going to troll, then find a site where there are English literature graduates as it's not welcomed here.

i have the same problem too. I'll try to log on or follow a link from a notification email and i get a message saying the site isn't working. what gives?

If you are just going to troll, then find a site where there are English literature graduates as it's not welcomed here.

As of June 2009 I'm an English literature graduate! (Well, English and Writing.) English Language might be the more suitable suggestion for mccavitt, though, as that involves the rules of English, whereas English Literature is mostly focused on reading and analysing texts.

It's been a good ride. I've enjoyed being a geeky English student. Not that all English students are geeks (because they're NOT :) ) but I like to label myself as such.

Well, I actually do sometimes correct the grammar of people such as my boyfriend and my sister...but I try to do it in a nice way. :)

yes i have the same problem frequently. Late at night i can't ever get the site to load and if i get an email with a link to a thread i've subscribed too it won't always load. sometimes even searching for the site in google and clicking on the link it won't load.

Same here. Oddly enough, around 11:30 almost exactly, the siet stopped working for me. Took me an hour to get it working. kept getting the broken link thing.

I have been on The Site at 10:30 pm CT Time and I have been able to get on

Knock on wood, I haven't experienced this in the past few days.

Same here - hasn't happened the past 2 days.

15 days of uptime without rebooting. That might be a record in recent months.
