I already found the polo shirt. The pants are off white kakis easily found anywhere. However, I am having trouble finding the black captain's hat.

One source for a high quality hat is almost dead on but has Greek laurels on it.

Would any you guys know a source of quality black captain hats with the anchors but no laurels?

I see some that are similar on some sites and on ebay in the $15 and under range but I expect those to be crap. Looking for something upperscale which a yatchsmen would be proud to wear. I am willing to pay $25-$30 and up for well made in assembly and materials.

I would prefer ones that are NOT adjustable but all suggestions will be great.

Any help will be great.

When we dressed up as the castaways last Halloween, I had the same problem helping the Skipper find his hat. We ended up with the $6 version for our Skipper. It was great for the costume, but as you suspect, it is made of cheap-feeling material and it had the plastic adjustable back that looks like the back of a baseball cap. I don't think anyone would wear it as a "real" hat. It looked cute for Halloween purposes though:

If you but the better quality hat with the laurels, do you think it would be possible to cover that logo with a patch of a more Skipper-like logo? Or are the laurels on the brim? You might try writing to the company and asking if it could be available with out the laurels. Couldn't hurt!

Just wanted to say, I know how you feel - I love to have incredibly accurate costumes, and finding all the right "parts" can be frustrating. I'll keep an eye out for ya. Good luck!
