View Full Version : "Farrah has to die. It's the only cover left for her"
MonarC 05-31-2009, 09:55 AM People magazine editor Larry Hacket was asked what makes a hot selling cover? He answered “We’re also on Farrah watch." he said. "At this point, Farrah has to die. It's the only cover left for her.”

WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH SOME PEOPLE!!!!
OH Nuts! 05-31-2009, 10:24 AM What an insenstive creep. That remark is just horrible and its going to turn around bite him BIG TIME. The words I really need to use to fully express what I feel can't be printed.
Doodyville10019 05-31-2009, 12:16 PM His only concern is a high profit bottom line for his bosses - that's his job. So what he said about Farrah does not surprise me. He'd probably say that about another (or any) celebrity or other high-profile person in Farrah's situation.
Doesn't make it right, but that's the way big media is.
OH Nuts! 05-31-2009, 12:19 PM That still doesn't change it from being an ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING remark or in any way excuse it. It's inexcusable. He could have easily found a more diplomatic way to handle this and still be business-minded.

Perhaps that's why "big media" is widely perceived as having all the moral bearing of a jackal.
Absolutely disgusting.

I haven't heard from Farrah's camp on this yet. Has anyone else??
MonarC 06-01-2009, 12:45 PM No, sure haven't. That guy deserves to step into the ring with Mike Tyson in my opinion.

catlover79 06-01-2009, 01:09 PM This is slightly off topic, but I found this PEOPLE quote from 1981 regarding Ryan and Farrah's relationship very interesting:
Certainly her decision to stick by Ryan has made them Hollywood's most golden—and most perplexingly talked-about—couple. O'Neal, whose string of ex-sweethearts includes Barbra Streisand, Ursula Andress, Diana Ross and Bianca Jagger, is to lovelorn glamorous women what Perrier is to luncheon. "Ryan has the full complement of Irish charm, and of Irish bulls***," says an associate. "But he's got happy feet—I don't think he'll stick around, even with Farrah."
Here's the whole article:

ZeldaGilroy 06-01-2009, 07:14 PM This makes me sick. He doesn't even see her as a person, he's just hoping to sell more magazines. Very sad! :(

Janice 06-01-2009, 10:56 PM Terrible. This whole "Farrah death watch" with the media is a disgrace. When it's her time, it's her time, and not a second sooner. They need to allow the woman die with dignity and privacy. The woman never hurt anyone in her life. Leave her be.

Very well said Janice. I agree.
JamesG 06-01-2009, 11:03 PM The same thing is going on for Patrick Swayze as well. Whenever a celebrity is reported to be near death's door/terminally ill they always have people snooping for the latest scoop.
They are not at all concerned about their health and well being. They just want to be the first to report word of their death for profit. It's pathetic.

It is terrible. Neither Farrah nor Patrick were drinkers or anything like that. Patrick Swayze was a dancer for God's sake! So sad that both of them are going through this! I was at work the other day and my coworkers were looking up pictures of him on their Blackberry's, talking about how horrible he looked. However, when I Google his name (to find out how he's doing), I only came up with pictures of him from movies. The ones they were looking at were from the tabloids. Those are just awful!

It's just sickening. How would they feel if the tables were turned??
Mr. Television 06-02-2009, 09:09 AM I remember when Michael Landon was dying of cancer. They were camped right by his house. I remember he went on the Tonight Show and blasted them. Nothing has changed over the years. They are all vultures.

Well I surely understand your sentiments. BUT...my idea....tie him to a stake and tar and feather him OR throw rotten garbage at him...and I mean REALLY rotten garbage!
(The creep will get his one day...what goes around comes around)
catlover79 06-02-2009, 01:53 PM Never have the lyrics of Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry" been truer.
jasonbigley 06-02-2009, 04:45 PM I can't believe Larry Hackett would say something like that about Farrah. TERRIBLE! She does not deserve this. I don't think I am renewing my subscription to PEOPLE Magazine next year. They charge $112 for 1 year subscription. Anyways, I hope that Farrah somehow gets better. Larry should be ashamed for what he said.
