Actress and rock heiress Mackenzie Phillips has finally kicked her lifelong addiction to drugs, and will show off her sobriety on the new series of reality show Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew.

The 49 year old, whose father was Mamas and the Papas star John Phillips, will appear on the show as a sober coach, less than a year after she was last arrested for cocaine possession and forced to start her 10th stint in rehab.

According to TMZ.com, Phillips has turned her life around and all remaining drugs charges against her will be dropped once she completes a 180-day drug diversion program.

She will replace Gary Busey, who was addiction specialist Dr. Drew Pinsky's last sober coach.

Her duties will include helping a roster of celebrity addicts stay on the straight and narrow.

I feel a real affinity with Mac since we share a birthday. (Nov. 10) So I hope she really has conquered her demons this time and will be a help and inspiration to the other celebrities she will be coaching!

From reading her book, it seems that Mac really has a warm heart towards others, especially fellow addicts. God bless her and I hope she is able to continue her sobriety while helping others toward the same end.
