In the episode "Redecorating", Lucy wins brand-new furniture (including living room furniture) from a home show. Later on, in the episode "Lucy Wants New Furniture", Lucy all of a sudden can't stand the furniture being in their new apartment despite the fact that she just got it less than a year earlier. Remember both of these episodes took place in the show's second season. Even Fred Mertz takes a look at the furniture in the latter episode and says: "I am looking for the price tag. This furniture is brand new, isn't it?"

For pices of furniture to get that bad-looing pretty quickly, they must have really been put to use.

Lucy was just picky.

I can't believe the writers were THAT forgetful. It was the same people writing all the scripts!! WHERE THE HELL WERE THEIR NOTES???

It's obvious they didn't care about continuity and surely assumed the audiences didn't either. Think of how so many episodes end with what is not 'carried over'... we never see the Handy-Dandy refrigerator Lucy is supposed to have bought; Ricky and Lucy were both offered parts in Moon Over Baghdad (?) and they don't go to Hollywood (yet); Ricky apparently does not star in a Broadway production promised by "Mr. Merriweather"; we don't see them in Mr. Green's TV show after he saw that crazy "pilot film;" and so many where at least one of the 'big 4' do not end up in prison for abduction, fraud, or something.

Besides, that's just part of Lucy's character-- she wants new furniture, new clothes, new hats... constantly, and constantly hatches new schemes to get them. And Ricky was surely wrong in the seance ep when he told Lucy if Mr. Merriweather engages him for that part she will have everything she ever wanted. Ha! She may get everything she wants for the present, but the next week she'll want another mansion, another limo, a new wardrobe, et al.
