Du Mont 05-28-2009, 01:59 PM If I were Mr. Meidel, I would have sought out some solid off-network comedies for Tuesdays instead of encores of the daytime syndicated versions of those gameshows.
I think MNT will see some gains from Wednesday's 'The Unit' doubleup, but it will see significant losses on Tuesday and minor losses on Monday.
SpenceOlchin 05-28-2009, 02:15 PM The only thing I'll watch is WWE Smackdown.
Jude The Obscure 05-28-2009, 09:11 PM all I see is another variation on ION
mgsports 06-02-2009, 08:10 PM Should have picked up Unit's contract and the others that aren't on this year's schedule.

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118012443.html?categoryid=14&cs=1
The Variety article tells the story of how the parade itself was revived this year by Associated Television International, the same company that worked to revive 'The Daytime Emmy Awards' telecast aired this year on The CW.
The article also announces that 'World's Funniest Moments' will be syndicated in the 2010-11 season. The series, which began as a series of holiday-themed specials on MyNetworkTV in the 2007-08 season was followed up by a weekly series in the 2008-09 season hosted by Mr. Arsenio Hall.

I'm guessing the poker series will go to Tuesdays at 9:00 and 9:30pm as Deal or No Deal is doing pretty bad. Law and Order: Criminal Intent is doing pretty well on Mondays at 9pm. Just wondering, how do these ratings compare to last year?

Du Mont 01-06-2010, 10:38 AM Tomorrow nights 'Best of the World Music Awards' airing at 8:00 p.m. (Eastern/Pacific)/ 7:00 p.m. (Central) is a 2-hour compilation special that will look back at over a decade of the most memorable “World Music Award” performances. Musicians appearing in highlighted footage will include: The late Mr. Michael Jackson, Miss Beyonce, Miss Rihanna, Miss Mariah Carey and Miss Britney Spears.
The broadcasting of 'The World Music Awards' in America started with ABC in 1992, and the Alphabet passed up on carrying the awards a few years back. MyNetworkTV picked up the broadcast, and since then, it has been a reliable ratings performer for the network, with the 18th Annual Awards encored three times to good numbers (award specials rarely get encore airings).

Du Mont 01-19-2010, 11:22 PM An interesting article in todays issue of Broadcasting & Cable which talks about the success enjoyed this season by MyNetworkTV and their new programming services strategy, which mixes syndicated programming offerings on three nights (Monday to Wednesday) together with network sourced programming on two nights (Thursday and Friday).
LINK to Broadcasting & Cable: http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/444904-MyNetworkTV_Primed_for_Growth.php
The numbers reported by MyNetworkTV executives are consistent with what I've been tracking so far based on the weekly syndicated programming reports and roll-ups of nightly metered market numbers, with the exception of 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent'. In the weekly syndie reports, that series is averaging 1.2 A18-49 and 4,122,000 P2+ viewers, but only half of those numbers are attributable to MyNetworkTV affiliates -- the other half must represent other stations the NBC-Universal had syndie packages in place with.
Here's a breakdown of the numbers that are being averaged by MyNetworkTV so far in the 2009-10 season. Of particular note, MyNetworkTV is ahead of The CW in households and viewers, while behind in A18-49 demo:
MyNetworkTV 2009-10 Season-to-Date: 1.5HH/2%, 0.7 A18-49, 2,300,000 P2+
Series Ranked by A18-49:
'WWE Smackdown': 1.1 A18-49, 3,400,000 P2+
'The Unit': 0.7 A18-49, 2,100,000 P2+
'Law & Order: Criminal Intent': 0.6 A18-49, 2,100,000 P2+
'Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?': 0.6 A18-49, 2,600,000 P2+
'Deal or No Deal': 0.4 A18-49, 1,700,000 P2+
'My Thursday Night Movie': 0.4 A18-49, 1,500,000 P2+
Given the strength of these numbers, I don't understand why MyNet or News Corp doesn't make greater light of them, at least to bolster affiliate morale. Perhaps MyNet is reconsidering their decision to de-enlist the network from the nightly Nielsen Television Index. Mr. Meidel seems to have found a formula that works for the mininet, especially in these tough economic times.
Du Mont 01-21-2010, 03:29 PM A flurry of news to report for MyNetworkTV:
1. MyNetworkTV Achieves Viewer Record in Week 16
Variety reports today that MyNetworkTV achieved a record week for P2+ viewers in Week 16 (January 4-10, 2010), watched by an average of 2.9 million viewers, with 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown's 3,731,000 and 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent's 3,300,000 viewers powering the week for MyNet.
Blending together the broadcasters and cablers for the week, MyNet also hit a record-high 7th place in P2+ viewers (behind only USA amongst the cablers). Here are the broadcasters/cablers watched by more than a million viewers in Week 16:
NBC 10,340,000
FOX 10,070,000
ABC 9,610,000
CBS 9,860,000
Univision 3,600,000
USA 3,467,000
MyNetworkTV 2,900,000
Disney 2,341,000
TNT 2,212,000
FOX NEWS 2,153,000
Nick-at-Night 1,922,000

Wither how far The CW, the network formed from the merger of UPN and The WB, has fallen to 27th place in Week 16. Flash backward to Week 16 of the 2005-06 Season, when UPN averaged 2,940,000 P2+ viewers, The WB averaged 2,350,000 P2+ viewers and PAX averaged 490,000 P2+, and one could conclude that most of those mininet viewers have moved over to MyNetworkTV and ION, leaving The CW behind.
2. CasinoCityTimes.com Ranks Mr. Conan O'Brien's Move to MyNetworkTV as 5/1 Odds
http://www.casinocitytimes.com/news/article/paddy-power-offering-conan-obrien-odds-192184
Due to persistent reports of FOX affiliate resistance to a latenight show for Mr. Conan O'Brien, there seems to be a back-up plan being formulated for Mr. Conan O'Brien to move his latenight comedy to News Corp.-owned MyNetworkTV, where affiliates are dancing with joy over the recent primetime surge in numbers for MyNet. Mr. Conan O'Brien's brand of humour would fit nicely with MyNet's scrappy style, as we saw with their two season foray into comedy on Wednesday nights: 'World's Funniest Moments', 'Under One Roof', 'The Tony Rock Project', 'Comics Unleashed', 'Shaken, Not Stirred'.
Should MyNet pick up a latenighter with Mr. Conan O'Brien, and have it achieve the sort of numbers we've seen for 'The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien' over the past few weeks, that could very well launch MyNetworkTV past the Big 3 nets in latenight, at least with the A18-34 demos.
3. 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' Loses Several Key Affiliates This Friday
MyNetworkTV, which is contractually bound to air Smackdown this Friday night, has seen several affiliates announce delays of the broadcast so they can participate in the 'Hope for Haiti' telethon being simulcast across all the other broadcasters and most cablers.
Here's a list of the major affiliates who are carrying 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' on a delayed basis:
New York - WWOR-9 delayed to 10:35 pm following local news
Washington, DC - WDCA delayed to 10 pm following telethon
As of the time of this report, the MyNet affiliates in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Buffalo and Baltimore are confirmed to be airing Smackdown at its regular 8 pm time.
yankeesrj12 01-21-2010, 05:00 PM 7th place? Nice!
I doubt Conan O'Brien will be coming to MyNetworkTV, but stranger things have happened.

http://buzzerblog.flashgameshows.com/deal-or-no-deal-officially-canceled/
It appears increasingly likely that the 'Don't Forget the Lyrics' fall 2010 pickup announced at NATPE is destined to take over 'Deal or No Deal's Tuesday 9:00 & 9:30 pm timeslots.

SPECIAL PROGRAMMING
MyNetworkTV has skedded no specials during March.
All MyNetworkTV series, movie and special presentations are broadcast in High Definition.
Du Mont 02-24-2010, 11:24 PM Broadcasting & Cable reports today that MyNetworkTV's fall pick-up 'Don't Forget the Lyrics', which is slated to take over the timeslot of the recently cancelled 'Deal or No Deal', has been cleared for a concurrent syndie run 65% of the US, including the top 20 markets.
http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/450480-Twentieth_Ups_Lyrics_Clearances_to_65_.php
Arrangements will likely parallel the broadcast/syndication pattern established for 'Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?', also a MyNetworkTV series with a parallel syndie distribution. Over this past season, MyNet has been able to premiere fresh episodes on Tuesday night that are previews of the upcoming sydie episodes. The gameshows also have featured guest spots from MyNetworkTV and FOX series, namely 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' and 'NAScar'. The article confirms that 160 episodes will be produced for the upcoming season, which should ensure MyNet originals throughout the season.
Season-to-date, MNT has been averaging roughly 2 million viewers on Tuesday, with a 0.5 A18-49 average. Most of the success has come from 'Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?', which has been averaging the 2.5 million range vs. 'Deal or No Deal's 1.5 averages.
TV-aholic 02-25-2010, 10:56 AM Dumont,
Do you have the current season averages for all the MyTV programs?
Sunce they are considered "syndication Package", its been far and few between to get ratings for the #5 network.
BTW, We miss ya on the PIF web site.

Hi tv-aholic,
Thank you for contributing to this board for MyNetworkTV...between your MNT weekly average reports and my MyNet news postings, the MyNetworkTV boards were quite robust and well-viewed over at PIFeedback. Since they were taken down, I've been posting MyNet news and ratings data here at sitcomsonline.com, at tvbythenumbers.com (as DuMont) and at avsforum.com (as DTN). With all the posting, I've had to cutback on my involvement at other sites (pifeedback, thefutoncritic) so that I can still find the time to watch some good television too. Give my best regards to everyone over at PIF...I do miss playing the prediction games that you and Douglas set up.
I do get numbers for the #5 network, but they come in on a delayed basis and they are reported them on a rounded (i.e. 2.4 million) basis. My most recent season-to-dates for MNT are:
'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' (Fridays 8 pm) 1.1 A18-49 3.7 million P2+
'The Unit' encores (Wednesdays 8 & 9 pm) 0.7 A18-49 2.6 million P2+
'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' encores (Mondays 8 & 9 pm) 0.7 A18-49 2.3 million P2+
'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?' (Tuesdays 8 & 8:30 pm) 0.6 A18-49 2.5 million P2+
'Deal or No Deal'* (Tuesdays 9 & 9:30 pm) 0.4 A18-49 1.5 million P2+
'My Thursday Night Movie' (Thursdays 8 pm) 0.4 A18-49 1.4 million P2+

I haven't heard anything about this show since it was announced a while back...perhaps it is being held off as a summer replacement series.
Du Mont 03-21-2010, 03:23 PM MyNetworkTV this April is maintaining stability in their scheduling with the following mix of new and encore programming for April. The other networks have skedded their May upfronts, but there is still no word as to whether MyNetworkTV will have an upfront in New York this year...they haven't done a proper upfront since their debutante days of 2006.
ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING
The following new programs are skedded for April:
Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? (Tuesdays 8 & 8:30 pm)
I don't have guest lists for 'Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?' on MyNetworkTV during April, so it is my guess that the network is stockpiling fresh episodes for the May Sweep and going with encores in April.
'Deal or No Deal' (Tuesdays 9 & 9:30 pm)
'Deal or No Deal' hosted by comedian Mr. Howie Mandel on MyNetworkTV during April will encore episodes at 9 pm and 9:30 pm.
MyThursdayNightMovie (Thursdays 8-10 pm)
The MyNetworkTV lineup of movies in April will feature two broadcast network premieres:
April 1 - CADILLAC MAN (1990) starring Miss Lori Petty, Miss Fran Drescher, Mr Tim Robbins and Mr Robin Williams in this April Fool's treat from MyNet(BROADCAST PREMIERE).
April 8 - MY SUPER EX-GIRLFRIEND (2006) directed by Mr Ivan Reitman and starring Miss Uma Thurman, Mr Luke Wilson, Mr Rainn Wilson, Miss Wanda Sykes and Mr Eddie Izzard (BROADCAST PREMIERE).
April 15 - ROBOCOP 2 (1990) has no noteworthy stars, other than the robot and the talented stuntpersons and CGI contributors.
April 22 - ROBOCOP 3 (1993) has Miss CCH Pounder has a supporting role in this final sequel before that wretched 'Robocop' series came about in 1994.
'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' (Fridays 8-10 pm)
'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' will be new every Friday throughout April.
ENCORE PROGRAMMING
'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' (Mondays 8 & 9 pm) & 'The Unit' (Wednesdays 8 & 9 pm) Encores
Both of MyNetworkTV's classic encore series continue unspooling with the episodes of both series run in order of original air-dates (N.B. -> By my estimations, 'The Unit' shall finish its four-season run of 69 episodes by the end of the May Sweep. No word yet whether the network plans to re-encore this series, or open the 20th-Television cupboard for another classic series to encore this summer).
SPECIAL PROGRAMMING
MyNetworkTV has skedded just one special during April:
April 29 - 'The 2009 World Magic Awards' is encored for the second time. Still awaiting a skedding of 'The World Music Awards'.
All MyNetworkTV series, movie and special presentations are broadcast in High Definition.
Texas8886 03-22-2010, 04:54 PM I hope they don't repeat the unit. Maybe they'll put "shuffle up and deal" in place of the unit
Du Mont 03-25-2010, 12:28 PM MyNetworkTV finished the recent February Sweep with all-time highs in all measures, beating The CW in households and P2+ viewers, and tying them in A18-49.
February Sweep 2010 (ranking amongst 11 broadcast networks):
MyNetworkTV: 1.3HH/2%, 0.68 A18-49, 2,050,000 P2+ viewers
The CW: 1.1HH/2%, 0.70 A18-49, 1,597,000 P2+ viewers
As well, the season-to-date numbers I have for MyNetworkTV at the end of Week 24 (with CW comparables to the end of Week 26) are:
2009-10 Season-to-Dates:
MyNetworkTV (wks 1-24): 1.5HH/2%, 0.65 A18-49, 2,300,000 P2+
The CW (wks 1-26): 1.3HH/2%, 0.77 A18-49, 1,970,000 P2+
Summer schedule news for the MyNetworkTV programming service is expected to be announced in the next few weeks.
Du Mont 04-12-2010, 09:23 PM In a breaking story reported by the Los Angeles Times, people close to the situation have revealed that 'WWE Smackdown' is jumping networks again, this time moving frmo MyNetworkTV to the SyFy network, expected to occur in early October 2010 when the two-year MNT deal with WWE expires. The story also confirms that SYFy intends to keep the skein on Friday nights.
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/entertainmentnewsbuzz/2010/04/wwes-smackdown-moving-to-syfy-.html
The story also indicates that the move comes with a 50% bump up in licences fees, from $20 million per annum to reportedly just shy of $30 million.
THere is no word yet on what replacement programming is being contempated by MyNetworkTV for the M18-49 strong series.

I'm willing to bet that MNTV will cease to exist in say, the next six months. SmackDown! was the only thing that was really keeping that "network" remotely relevant.

It's the only thing that I watch on MNTV. Once it's gone, I have no need for this pathetic excuse for a network. I personally wish my affiliate (WWOR) would just return to being an independent.

Du Mont 04-13-2010, 07:53 PM SyFy offered $10 million dollars more than MyNetworkTV did. Thus, they lost the series.
There are a variety of sources today reporting that MyNetworkTV was on the verge of cancelling 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' (likely to have be announced at their May upfront) and replacing the wrestling show with a 20th-FOX Television encore series. Encore programming has been a ratings boon to MyNet this season, and the cost economics did not merit a renewal of the two year deal with MNT (reportedly ranging between $15 to $20 million, depending on the source).
If MyNetworkTV couldn't make a decent profit return on the existing $15-20 million / year deal, then SyFy has its work cut out for it to make money on $30 million a season, given the likelihood of skinnier ratings than the series garnered in broadcast.
If MyNetworkTV wants to hold on to their Friday night M18-49 demo, they would be wise to follow The CW's lead and programme Friday nights with classic science fiction / aciton programming out of the FOX library ('Dark Angel', 'John Doe', 'Werewolf', 'Prison Break') to compete against SyFy's wrestling which is likely to dislodge a few million sci fi viewers.

I'm guessing Friday Night Smackdown! was actually losing money for MyNetworkTV then. You probably don't have this information, but how much does a series like The Unit make for MyNet? Any word on what encore FOX Television series will be heading to MyNet next season?

Given what I've read, I'm pretty certain 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' was at best break-even, but probably a money-loser for MNT. I think it was Obveeus over on the pifeedback.com boards who said that advertisers don't place a high valuation on the 'WWE Smackdown' audience profile (lower socio-economic demos), and when it was a CW property, its 30-second spots always were the cheapeast 30-second buy on the network despite the high A18-49s.
I also think MNT learned what The CW (and UPN before them) learned and that is that there is not a lot of audience cross-over. Promos run on 'WWE Smackdown' don't lead to viewership bumps for other series (although I think MNT did get good crossover bumps for their now-cancelled 'Magic's Biggest Secrets' and 'Masters of Illusion' series).
As for MNT profitability on 'The Unit' encores, the network has rented out the two hours, Wednesdays 8 & 9 pm, to 20th Television who are responsible for selling the ads through their syndication sales force (the local affiliates get to keep half the ad time for local buys). So the series is "profitable" no matter what the ratings are as there is no license fees to pay. Season-to-date, 'The Unit' has averaged 0.7 A18-49 2.6 million P2+ viewers on Wednesday night, about double what MNT averaged last season with their comedy-oriented line-ups.
As to 2010-11, there have been a few programming changes that have emerged. Here is what I expect to see for next seasons MyNetworkTV Programming Service:

There have been persistent rumours that 'Friday Night Lights' encores have been earmarked for MyNetworkTV, and a good pairing for it would be 'Las Vegas', which has yet to establish itself in syndication.
With a line-up like this, I would forecast a minimal fall-off for MNT from their current season-to-date averages of 0.7 A18-49 and 2,300,000 P2+ viewers.
Is the mangement of mynetworktv ********? Why would any network let there highest rated show to leave to another network.
Well while we're at it, why would the management of the CW let one of their highest rated shows leave (because the president of the network, Dawn Ostroff, hated the idea of any shows appealing towards young men more than her desired demographic of young women).
I'm sure that WWE didn't like the fact that on MNTV (and maybe even before that), SmackDown! was frequently preempted by live-sporting events like Major League Baseball games. Also, on MNTV, SmackDown! I don't think, is available in high-definition unlike on SyFy.
yankeesrj12 04-14-2010, 05:09 PM Thanks for answering my questions dumont!
I really haven't watched MyNetworkTV this season, but if they have a schedule like that I actually would. I haven't seen Burn Notice, so I think it would be a good chance to get connected with the series!
Hopefully MyNetworkTV is able to keep growing next season. :)

What do you think?
It looks to be a solid schedule of off-net encores mixed with some new syndie gamers (Tuesday night will now be the only night with original programming). Unfortunately, with the jettisoning of the movie night, there's probably not a lot I'm going to be watching as I've seen most of it already before.
I think 'Burn Notice' is a good replacement for 'The Unit', and 'Monk' should get about half the audience that 'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' was pulling in. 'Without a Trace' will probably out-perform the movie on Thursdays, and 'Don't Forget the Lyrics' will out-do 'Deal or No Deal', so MNT has a chance at holding most of its viewership on a season-over-season basis (I'd predict 90-95% retention).
Given their success with syndicated content, I'm surprised that MNT didn't try to open up another night (Sunday?) or daypart (mornings?) to offer its affiliates a program service, which by all accounts that I've read, has exceeded expectations from an affiliate point of view.
Once the movie night goes, I will probably cease my blog updates for MyNetworkTV until they return to original scripted programming, a specials night, a reprise of the movie night, or perhaps another travel down the telenovella route again.
And ION now has the very last regularly-scheduled primetime broadcast movie series, a bittersweet dénouement for a grand broadcast tradition that began back in the fifties and really gathered momentum with the premiere of the 'NBC Saturday Night at the Movies' series back in the fall of 1961.

Du Mont 04-26-2010, 09:43 AM MyNetworkTV has a May Sweep line-up that features a blend of this new and encore programming, together with two extraordinary art-house theatrical premieres.
ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING
The following new programs are skedded for April:
Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? (Tuesdays 8 & 8:30 pm)
Here are the guest lists for 'Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?' on MyNetworkTV during the May Sweep:
May 4th 8:00 pm - special celebrity episode with tv soap star Mr. Bryan Datillo ('Days of Our Lives') playing the game for charity.
May 4th 8:30 pm - a second special celebrity episode with tv soap star Miss Sarah Brown ('General Hospital', 'The Bold & The Beautiful') playing the game for charity.
I'm not sure which of the May 11th, 18th & 25th are new / encore, so you'll have to check local listings.
'Deal or No Deal' (Tuesdays 9 & 9:30 pm)
'Deal or No Deal' hosted by comedian Mr. Howie Mandel on MyNetworkTV during April will encore episodes at 9 pm and 9:30 pm through the May Sweep. Given its cancellation, I think the series may have stopped production of new episodes.
MyThursdayNightMovie (Thursdays 8-10 pm)
The MyNetworkTV lineup of movies in May will feature three broadcast network premieres:
May 6 - BARFLY (1987) finally gets its broadcast premiere a mere 23 years after it made its scathing debut in 1987. Directed by Mr Barbet Schroeder and written by the legendary scribe Mr Charles Bukowski, this superb film stars the sublime Miss Faye Dunaway a decade after her Oscar-winning performance in NETWORK, supported by the ever so talented Mr Mickey Rourke (c'mon MyNet, sked THE WRESTLER sometime soon!) and Miss Alice Krige, a decade before she was annointed Borg Queen. In the film, Mr. Rourke plays Henry Chinaski, a depressed poet and alcoholic meets Miss Dunaway's Wanda, another alcoholic in the seedy bars of Los Angeles. Fortune shines on Henry when a publisher offers to publish some of his poems, and he gains a small amount of fame. (BROADCAST PREMIERE)
May 13 - ENTRAPMENT starring Mr. Sean Connery and Miss Catherine Zeta-Jones in a art-theft caper thriller.
May 20 - BASIC (2003) starring Mr. John Travolta, Mr Samuel Jackson, Mr. Tim Daly, Mr Giovanni Ribisi, Mr Taye Diggs, Mr Harry Connick Jr. and Miss Connie Nielsen in this film about an ex-Army Ranger turned DEA agent who is drawn into an ever-widening mystery surrounding the disappearance of his reporting officer as well as several of his elite Special Forces trainees during a routine training exercise in the jungles of Panama. (BROADCAST PREMIERE)
May 27 - RESCUE DAWN (2006) is a superb film written and directed by Mr. Werner Herzog and starring Mr Christian Bale in a tour de force performance in a real life story of survival against the toughest odds. (BROADCAST PREMIERE)
'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' (Fridays 8-10 pm)
'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' will be new every Friday throughout May as it enters its final summer season on MyNetworkTV before moving over to SyFy in the fall.
ENCORE PROGRAMMING
'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' (Mondays 8 & 9 pm) & 'The Unit' (Wednesdays 8 & 9 pm) Encores
Both of MyNetworkTV's classic encore series continue unspooling with the episodes of both series run in order of original air-dates. 'The Unit' shall finish its four-season run of 69 episodes by the end of the May Sweep, and the network has not yet announced whether it plans to re-encore this series, or open the 20th-Television cupboard for another classic series to encore this summer before 'Burn Notice' takes over the Wednesday timeslots in the fall.
SPECIAL PROGRAMMING
MyNetworkTV has skedded just one special for the first night of the May Sweep (which starts April 29th):
April 29 - 'The 2009 World Magic Awards' is encored for the second time. Still awaiting a skedding of 'The World Music Awards'.
So far this season, MyNetworkTV has set new record highs in the November Sweep and February Sweep. Here are the previous May Sweep numbers that MyNetworkTV has to exceed for a 2009-10 season hat trick:
MyNetworkTV May Sweep Averages 2007-2009
2007: 0.6HH, 0.36 A18-49, 934,000 P2+ viewers
2008: 0.8HH, 0.46 A18-49, 1,194,000 P2+ viewers
2009: 0.9HH, 0.49 A18-49, 1,444,000 P2+ viewers
All MyNetworkTV series, movie and special presentations are broadcast in High Definition.
Du Mont 05-04-2010, 06:38 PM News Corporation released quarterly financials today that indicated improved results at MyNetworkTV, no doubt arising from the programming service strategy:
"News Corp.'s TV unit multiplied its quarterly operating profit from $9 million to $40 million as the Fox Television Stations recorded an 18% revenue gain due to improved local ad trends, particularly in the auto and telecom categories, and improved results at MyNetworkTV. This was partially offset by lower contributions from Fox Broadcasting Company, which suffered
from higher costs for returning shows and lower ad revenue due to lower ratings."
The article doesn't indicate whether MyNetworkTV has beaten The CW as the first post-WB-UPN mininet to turn a profit, but I'm pretty sure MNT is closer to that target than The CW.

Give MyNetworkTV credit for going full-out during the summer months with four broadcast premieres lined up for June and July: BASKETBALL DIARIES, HIDE AND SEEK, TWISTED, and THE GIRL NEXT DOOR will all be making their official broadcast network debuts.
yankeesrj12 05-09-2010, 02:01 PM Girl Next Door? I've always wanted to see that, but never watched it. MyNetworkTV has my attention that day!
Du Mont 05-20-2010, 02:18 PM I've been waiting for this special to get skedded for a while. It is interesting that the network has slotted it for mid-June. Here's an announcement from MyNetworkTV:

Du Mont 05-27-2010, 03:37 PM MyNetworkTV has set a June line-up that features a surprising amount of new programming (16 hours by my count) compared to rival mininet The CW which has not a single half-hour of new programming in its June sked.
ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING
The following new programs are skedded for June:
Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? (Tuesdays 8 & 8:30 pm)
My grids indicate that the 8:00 and 8:30 pm episodes of 'Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?', hosted by Mr. Jeff Foxworthy, are new throughout June, but I don't have information on guest stars.
'Deal or No Deal' (Tuesdays 9 & 9:30 pm)
'Deal or No Deal' hosted by comedian Mr. Howie Mandel on MyNetworkTV will be encore episodes at 9 pm and 9:30 pm, probably for the duration of the summer, which will see the dealing Mr. Mandel competing against the judging Mr. Mandel in his new judge role on NBC's 'America's Got Talent' Tuesdays at 9 pm.
An idea for MyNet and Universal (who programs Tuesdays at 9 pm)...why not jettison 'Deal or No Deal', and give us something else from the Universal library, a gamer or perhaps even a sitcom?
MyThursdayNightMovie (Thursdays 8-10 pm)
The MyNetworkTV lineup of movies in June will feature one broadcast network premiere:
June 3 - BASKETBALL DIARIES (1995) finally gets its broadcast premiere. Based upon the poetic novel by Mr. Jim Carroll, this film stars Mr. Leonardo DiCaprio, Mr. Mark Wahlberg, Miss Lorraine Bracco and Miss Juliette Lewis in this cautionary tale of a star high school basketball player freefall into the harrowing world of drug addiction. (BROADCAST PREMIERE)
June 10 - BABY BOOM (1987) - I thought that MyNet was giving BABY BOOM its long overdue broadcast network premiere, however, it was previous premiered on PAX's 'MGM Night at the Movies' on Friday September 3, 2004. Starring Miss Diane Keaton, Mr. Sam Shepard, Mr. Harold Ramis and Mr. James Spader, this dramedy explores the world of J.C. Wiatt, known as "tiger lady" in the business world, who unexpectedly and reluctantly becomes mother to a baby girl left to her care by a distant relative.
'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' (Fridays 8-10 pm)
'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' will be new every Friday throughout June on MyNetworkTV.
As of Wednesday May 26th, 'The Unit' has gone back to the beginning of its 69 episodes, which will presumably run in order until 'Burn Notice' takes over the slot coming this fall. I'm disappointed that the 20th-Television cupboard couldn't have been mined for another short-run series to encore this summer - who knows, if 'The Unit' re-encores tank, that might just happen?
SPECIAL PROGRAMMING
MyNetworkTV has skedded two specials for June, both pre-empting 'My Thursday Night Movie':
June 17, 8-10 pm: ''My Thursday Night Special: The 2010 World Music Awards' - The year’s biggest international music event, 'The 2010 World Music Awards' in Monte Carlo, will include performances by Miss Jennifer Lopez, Miss Andrea Bocelli, Ludacris, Will.i.am, Akon, international DJ sensation Mr. David Guetta, Scorpions and many more. The awards show is hosted by Miss Michelle Rodriguez (the unforgettable Ana Lucia Cortez in 'Lost', Trudy in AVATAR) and Miss Hayden Panettiere ('Heroes'). (BROADCAST PREMIERE)
June 24, 8-10 pm: 'My Thursday Night Special: Best of the World Music Awards' (ENCORE) - This two-hour special looks back at over a decade of the most memorable “World Music Award” performances. Appearances to include: Mr. Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Rihanna, Miss Mariah Carey and Miss Britney Spears.
All MyNetworkTV series, movie and special presentations are broadcast in High Definition.
Du Mont 05-30-2010, 06:57 PM Some of you may remember the drama pilot 'Dead Man Running' starring the uber-cool Mr. Michael Madsen and produced by former producers of 'The Shield'. This pilot was first commissioned by MyNetworkTV back in August 2008, and was under consideration for the 2009-10 season until MyNetworkTV decided to shift strategy away from acquiring their own programming to sell ads within and instead become a programming service for syndicators.
The footage and stills shot for the 'Dead Man Running' pilot presentation have been fashioned into a series of five webisodes that can be found at the following website:
http://www.deadmanrunning.tv/
From series descriptors I've seen, it would have made an intriguing series on MyNetworkTV, and could still fit nicely within the current lineups of M18-49 targeted nets like SPIKE or F/X.
Du Mont 06-22-2010, 07:53 PM The July Sweep is soon upon us, and MyNetworkTV has a lone theatrical premiere and an encore special in their line-up for July that features 14 hours of new programming compared to rival mininet The CW which will have a few hours as it debuts its new 'Plain Jane' reality skein in July.
ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING
The following new programs are skedded for July:
Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? (Tuesdays 8 & 8:30 pm)
My grids indicate that the 8:00 and 8:30 pm episodes of 'Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?', hosted by Mr. Jeff Foxworthy, are new throughout the July Sweep, but I don't have information on guest stars.
'Deal or No Deal' (Tuesdays 9 & 9:30 pm)
'Deal or No Deal' hosted by comedian Mr. Howie Mandel on MyNetworkTV will be encore episodes at 9 pm and 9:30 pm.
MyThursdayNightMovie (Thursdays 8-10 pm)
The MyNetworkTV lineup of movies in July will feature just one broadcast network premiere together with two classics:
July 1 - TWISTED (2004) stars Miss Ashley Judd, Mr. David Strathairn and Mr. Andy Garcia. (BROADCAST PREMIERE)
July 8 - BLOWN AWAY (1994) stars Mr. Jeff Bridges and Mr. Tommy Lee Jones.
July 22 - STAR TREK III: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK (1994) stars Mr. William Shatner, Mr. DeForest Kelley and Miss Nichelle Nichols in this third theatrical based on the NBC television series which was directed by Mr. Leonard Nimoy who also plays Spock..
'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' (Fridays 8-10 pm)
'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' will be new every Friday throughout July on MyNetworkTV.
SPECIAL PROGRAMMING
MyNetworkTV has one encore special for July, which pre-empts 'My Thursday Night Movie':
July 15, 8-10 pm: ''My Thursday Night Special: The 2010 World Music Awards' - ENCORE - The year’s biggest international music event, 'The 2010 World Music Awards' in Monte Carlo, will include performances by Miss Jennifer Lopez, Miss Andrea Bocelli, Ludacris, Will.i.am, Akon, international DJ sensation Mr. David Guetta, Scorpions and many more. All MyNetworkTV series, movie and special presentations are broadcast in High Definition.
Du Mont 07-18-2010, 09:07 PM MyNetworkTV has two theatrical premieres coming up in August.
ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING
MyThursdayNightMovie (Thursdays 8-10 pm)
The MyNetworkTV lineup of movies in August will feature just two broadcast network premieres:
August 5th -> FLED (1996) stars Mr. Laurence Fishburne and Mr. Stephen Baldwin as two chained together convicts in a pallid re-make of THE DEFIANT ONES.
August 12th -> BEHIND ENEMY LINES (1997) stars Mr. Thomas Ian Griffith and Mr. Chris Mulkey in this film about going back to Vietnam to retrieve a comrade thought dead. (BROADCAST PREMIERE)
PRELUDE TO A KISS (1992) stars Mr. Alec Baldwin, Miss Meg Ryan, Miss Kathy Bates, Mr. Ned Beatty, Miss Patty Duke and Mr. Stanley Tucci in this romantic comedy.
88 MINUTES (2007) stars Mr. Al Pacino, Miss Alicia Witt, Miss Lee Sobieski, Miss Amy Brenneman, Miss Deborah Kara Unger and Mr. Neal McDonough in this thriller about a psychologist working with the police who has only 88 minutes to live and so much to do in a tale told ‘24’-style. (BROADCAST PREMIERE)
'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' (Fridays 8-10 pm)
'WWE Friday Night Smackdown' will be new every Friday throughout August on MyNetworkTV as its broadcast run winds down after 10 seasons and the skein prepares to move over to SyFy beginning in October 2010.
ENCORE PROGRAMMING
Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? (Tuesdays 8 & 8:30 pm)
