Hi, everyone! Do you have ideas ABOUT fanfiction? I am chairing a panel at a popular culture conference this fall on fanfiction. This is not for reading fanfictions you may have written but is for anyone who would like to present an analysis of some kind regarding fanfiction of any kind (not only sitcoms but other kinds of tv, movies, books, comics, plays, etc.). Do you get a notion when reading "Seinfeld" fanfiction, for example? Do you have comparisons to make between different shows' fanfiction? Do you feel something is missing, overly present? What about fanfiction fans and writers? Do you have something to say about them? Do you have an idea about fanfiction in general? This is a very fun conference; it is not stilted or pretentious and filled with people who will love to hear about and discuss your favorite pop culture interests. The deadline for proposals is coming up in June. The papers, themselves, can be shorter than some fanfictions!
