Hey gang,

I saw online yesterday the complete Golden Girls series for like 65 bucks. Question I have is since it would be about 1/2 the price of me being the individiual scenes...does anyone have the Complete Series Box Set, and is it legit, or is it a ripoff? I don't want to spend money if I'm gonna get shafted so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Be careful of low priced box sets. I got ripped a new one with the one I bought. the only extra feature I can actually play is the one included with the last set which is where Bea, Rue and Betty all talk about the show. Not sure if it is called Golden Moments or something like that. If I were you I'd save a little longer for the one at amazon or a reputable site for the legit set.

However that was my experience perhaps someone else had a better experience with a low priced box set. :eek4:

Any time you see DVD's being sold that cheap you can almost guarantee they are bootlegs. This means several things:
1. they are illegal

2. there is no guarantee of the quality of the DVD's you will receive (the disks may not play in your player, the picture and/or sound may be poor, they will likely be edited syndication prints recorded from television etc.)

3. If there are any issues with your DVD's chances of getting these issues resolved are almost nil. (these companies are only in it for the money. they change their names and URL's constantly to avoid unsatisfied customers.)

If you still want to buy these DVD's just remember you do so at your own risk.

It appears to be the same box set that Amazon is selling, just about 15 bucks cheaper than Amazon wants for it...and about 150 cheaper than the 'original' price according to the website I was on. The site I was on...the url is: http://www.tvinthebox.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=225

(Apologies if posting urls on the board is against a rule)

I agree! Like I said I ended up buying a "cheap" copy and got what I paid for and it came in that same packaging. I've seen the box set in a different package. Can't say which is legit.

But I'd play it safe and stay away from the low price sets. Even if it means waiting a little longer to save for the difference. In the end I ended up buying each season separately. :(
