CANNES -- Jerry Lewis, who hasn't had a full-fledged screen role since 1995's "Funny Bones," will star in writer-director Daniel Noah's "Max Rose," as a widower who revisits key moments in his life.

Lawrence Inglee will produce the project for Lightstream Pictures, a new company he recently founded with Paul Currie. Inglee was previously a creative exec at the Mark Gordon Co.

Production is slated for fall in Los Angeles.

Lewis was honored this year by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which awarded him the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
